That vid she did swap to a double-power spring, and is overvolting the drive motor, so that's why it's working so well I think. Regarding using the same system to do a sentry, I concur, but if you're not firing anything then you can just make it a more accurate prop that makes noise instead of using a Nerf gun
I moved out and filled my closet with real guns  :p I still want a bunch of nerf guns though Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Goffin - 07-10-2013 3D Printing of Liquid Metals at Room Temperature Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - Goffin - 07-11-2013 (07-09-2013, 07:46 AM)HeK link Wrote:
No projectiles, against con rules. Just buy it Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - FlyingMongoose - 07-13-2013 Here's why: Buy it while you can, almost all gun laws get grandfathered if you owned it before it changed. Firearms almost always appreciate in value (if you take care of them properly). They are an investment and a form of protection. Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - A. Crow - 07-13-2013 Whoever told you guns always appreciate in value is just trying to get you to buy more guns, which they are selling.  Hell, even the AR-15 prices are kinda returning to something more reasonable, and that market is fueled by misinformation, fear, and greed.   Buy a gun because you want to be able to shoot things.  Then read up on your local laws to determine what's legal to shoot.  Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - The Generic Name - 07-18-2013 Found this article on io9 http://io9.com/americas-present-heat-wave-is-so-big-you-can-see-it-fr-812398912 SPACE HEAT Re: Neat stuff (non-lulz but interesting things) - FlyingMongoose - 07-18-2013 (07-13-2013, 09:09 AM)LT Crow link Wrote: Whoever told you guns always appreciate in value is just trying to get you to buy more guns, which they are selling.  Hell, even the AR-15 prices are kinda returning to something more reasonable, and that market is fueled by misinformation, fear, and greed.  ÂAll depends on the gun laws actually (if a particular type is no longer able to be sold by retailers it becomes very valuable, however trade, and existing ownership gets grandfathered (usually)). As well as the demand of the ammunition for a certain type of firearm. It's very rare that firearms significantly depreciate in value unless it is improperly taken care of.
