I learned that I was almost a canadian. According to my great grandmother, our family tried to come through ellis island after being kicked out of Slovakia. They were horse thieves and highwaymen. They were denied entry at ellis island so they went to Canada. They tried to get into the US again through Minnesota and were able to get in. If they were denied entry through Minnesota, they would have stayed in Canada.
But yeah, my family used to be a gang of horse theives. Fuck yeah
