Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Eightball - 06-30-2011 nope nope nope Been up reading TVtropes to try to distract myself since I posted it. Not even close yet, fuck me. How the hell did I manage to finish Amnesia when this bothers me so goddamn much Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 06-30-2011 (06-30-2011, 11:33 PM)Bonesinger link Wrote: [quote author=Käse link=topic=3709.msg212868#msg212868 date=1309494275] Oh that looks like the same mangaka who wrote Uzumaki (Spiral), which I highly recommend as it is hilariously terrifying. After reading it I picture myself in one of those...holes. The darkness. The silence. The utter, crushing realization that you can't go back. The last page I really wasn't expecting but the drawing was grotesque enough to startle me. EDIT: Fuck, I can't even adequately articulate that claustrophobic feeling I get. There are tons and tons, meters and meters of stone in every direction. Stretching out infinitely before you is darkness... just black, soul-stifling darkness. Emptiness, something more ominous than can be summarized by "space devoid of light". And forget about the eerie nature of the setting itself. Something unexplainable. And the appearance of these holes. A few inches illuminated, then...darkness again. The idea of even looking into one of them. Yeah, part of it is the primal fear that something is lurking within. But what lies within is, in creative formats, often left unknown, as our minds can create worse monsters than could ever be put on paper. But then the author takes a big stinky on that idea. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 06-30-2011 You should read the one about the little walking machines powered by the gases released by decomposing bodies. At first I was like "this is grotesque" but then, when the fish balloon scenario happened... I lost my shit and laughed the rest of the way through. I might be one of the few who finds his books funny; I think it's probably the fact that things on paper don't usually scare me (and his expressions are pretty entertaining, along with interesting translations of the dialogues). Now if I were to watch a horror film, I might be traumatized for a few days and afraid to go to the bathroom at night, etc. (Have you realized how creepy it is to look into the mirror at night with no lights on?) Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 07-01-2011 No, I find them funny as well. Also I live for that kind of creepiness... I'm an idiot. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Luinbariel - 07-01-2011 The manga I was thinking about was Gyo: This one gets kind of gruesome in terms of the art style at some points, but it still is kind of amusing to me. Also Kase you are a lot like me then; I'm thinking about paranormal type stuff like that quite often as well. It's my hobby I guess? Otherwise I was thinking about it for a bit. There's very little that's actually truly scared me, if anything. I can't remember when I think back of a time when I was literally and actually scared by something. Disturbed maybe, but never scared. We'd always do stupid things that kids do, like go to the graveyard at night and such. My friends would always be too scared to get out of the car, but I'd get out and walk around. It's actually kind of beautiful, at least it was when we'd go, because most of the cemeteries were near rivers and in the right weather there'd be lightening bugs everywhere. It's quiet, and still, and I guess eerie but not really scary. Not to mention thrilling. I LOVE the thrill I get from doing stuff like that. I feel more alive when I do I guess. Never scared, just "Oh wow, this is awesome". Same thing when we'd go investigate old buildings and stuff. I remember staying at a friend's house in a very old, small town in the middle of nowhere. It was pretty much slowly petering out but there were still some old buildings from when it was a bigger town. One of them was an old church. We went at night but had no flash lights. I asked about the building and my friend said you could get in through the basement which was never locked. So of course we went. I couldn't get her to come in with me for ANYTHING but I went down those stairs and just waited 'til my eyes adjusted in the dark. It was kind of neat once I was down there. We had some other experiences at her house another time in the same little town/village. That whole town was a bit fucked up. I have LOTS of stories of going looking for trouble like that. And a few more stories of (maybe) finding trouble once in awhile. Like investigating an old house for a psychology project. Had a partner, and we claimed we were going to do a paranormal investigation, which our teacher allowed. But in secret I pitched my idea to him; I was going to experiment on how easy it was to influence others into believing places were haunted on my unsuspecting partner. I went to the place alone during the day first. I wanted to be sure it was safe and that I knew the layout. It had been abandoned in a field for like 50 years. I get there, check the place out, and determine it's not structurally safe for us to be fucking around in at night. But just as I am leaving I swear I heard someone calling to me from upstairs, yelling down like you'd yell down to someone to get their attention. I stopped, took a picture, called back, but nothing was there. I've been back several times, never really had the same experience there. But, again... I have lots of others from other times and places, including my very recent Reiki I training, if anyone cares. PS here's a picture of the house I was just talking about. These are the original pictures I took that year, scanned in from the prints I still have. Here's the stairway at the front of the house as I was getting ready to leave Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - HeK - 07-01-2011 ************* USAF File: C203-92b Date: Jun 7, 1952 Filed by: Capt. Henry Milan ************* Item found outside of Yuma, Arizona on March 24th, 1952. During regular training exercises, Corporal Ben Flynn and his squadron came across an strange statue in an empty installation set to be used for future bombing run training. The statue is approximately seven feet tall and human in form. The arms and legs are disproportionate to the head and torso, resembling a fetus. Strange colouration was noted on the face of the statue and it was posed against on of the inner walls of the building. Upon further inspection, Corporal Flynn noted that the statue is composed of mostly cement and is possibly reinforced with steel rebar. It is likely man-made. Further investigation of the surrounding area yielded no other signs of transportation for the statue other that misshapen foot prints. It is likely that the statue was placed there by locals looking to create a stir or possibly protest the war. Private Allen Benson took the supplied photograph to document the area in the event that an investigation to the security of the training area is to take place. Private Benson reported that he heard the sound of heavy scraping within the building shortly after he left. This prompted a search of the other rooms in case any civilians may have still been in the building but were undetected. The area was given an "all clear" by the squad commander and the statue was left in the building. It was deemed necessary that on June 9th, a final morning inspection of the building will be conducted before it is demolished to make certain that no civilians have returned to the area and to ensure no lives are lost. ************* Special Containment Procedures: Item is to be kept in a locked container at all times. When personnel must enter the container, no fewer than 3 may enter at any time and the door is to be relocked behind them. At all times, two persons must maintain direct eye contact with the item until all personnel have vacated and relocked the container. Origin is as of yet unknown. It is constructed from concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint. When animate, it is extremely hostile. The object cannot move while within a direct line of sight. Line of sight must not be broken at any time. Personnel assigned to enter container are instructed to alert one another before blinking. Object is reported to attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation. In the event of an attack, personal are to observe Class 4 hazardous object containment procedures. Personnel report sounds of scraping stone originating from within the container when no one is present inside. This is considered normal, and any change in this behaviour should be reported to the acting HMCL supervisor on duty. The reddish brown substance on the floor is a combination of feces and blood. Origin of these materials is unknown. The enclosure must be cleaned on a bi-weekly basis. http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Article_Listing Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - matter11 - 07-01-2011 page 3, she's about 10 feet away, better put my hands around my mouth and yell Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Whendilin - 07-01-2011 Marble Hornets anyone?
