So, the big boss came around today for a couple hours. I had about 15 minutes to brief my piece. My platoon literally blows the other platoons out of the water- like "the other guys aren't even close" is a quote. They want my stuff to give to the other platoons, so they can get it right. Why do I still not feel like I've done a good job here?!?!?!

Because they're going to take your material, use it to bring the other platoons up to your level. Then they'll pat themselves on the back for singlehandedly bringing up the performance of the whole battalion and you'll get fuck-all for recognition or reward.
