Re: Art - Dr. Zaius - 04-06-2011 Yeah Sponson, that's pretty sweet. I'm all kinds of jelly of your ability to draw. Re: Art - Dr. Zaius - 04-06-2011 Mmmm. The Smiths. Morrissey's voice is sex. Although the video's picture is misleading, that song was off of an odd album (not one of their 4 released). However, Dave, you forgot Baudelaire. Re: Art - Eschatos - 04-06-2011 Re: Art - at0m - 04-06-2011 That looks like The Citadel in the background. Strange. Re: Art - Reevesith - 04-06-2011 Feels weird posting my toony-ish art things up with your fancier arts Re: Art - Reevesith - 04-08-2011 Just a fallout doodleÂ
Vault cat & company walked into the local bar for a little R&R, as Vault cat & grandpa started sing the old song from pre-war days "Meow mix meow mix me one more time", Something in Koop's pack catches the bartender Astel's eye. Some pre-war jewellery, to which she promptly tries to barter for it & when that failed she forced Koop's paw to her chest & claims "You cup'd a feel thats 1 jewelry". Koop replied with " As if.." & a Speakers Eye-bot roams the bar~ Re: Art - Sponson - 04-08-2011 Re: Art - Sponson - 04-09-2011 (04-09-2011, 12:00 AM)geoff link Wrote: http://i.imgur.com/GM3jm.jpg An over generalization, don't you think? Re: Art - Eightball - 04-09-2011 Not sure that this shouldn't go into the longest thread instead (since I didn't actually design the templates) but a hobby I picked up recently is making sprite art with perler beads: Top row: Advance wars units [Orange Star] (still have to make missiles and MD tank) Mid row: Weegee, a 1-up shroom which I now realize is colored in reverse, Bub from bubble bobble (girlfriend has Bob), Ness (for Caff), Goemon (for Scar), Eliwood (for girlfriend again) Bottom row: All the VVVVVV cast. Planning to make this into a wall motif when I finally move into an apartment. Made this one for my girlfriend, it's about 1ft square and probably contains 1000 beads. Basically an array of colored plastic beads that melt and fuse at temperatures a bit around 200C. Originally designed for 5-year olds, with the use of orthogonal pegboards you can make quite a lot of sprites. They're pretty easy/fun to make, and it's fairly therapeutic if you don't do it for >1 hour at a time. I take requests! If you're going to be at ACEN, let me know what you'd like me to make for you. As long as it's not as large as that Dragonair, I won't charge you :v. You can make stuff like magnets and wall decorations out of it (or pins, if they're very small). For other people I've already made Mega Man, a Dragon Quest slime, Crono, a Black Mage, and probably a few other things I've forgotten. Re: Art - [SiN] Merc - 04-09-2011 Oh my god Goemon. I love those games. Re: Art - Luinbariel - 04-09-2011 OMG dat Luigi Re: Art - CaffeinePowered - 04-09-2011 What did I JUST SAY, take it to PMs, and stop shitting up the thread Edit: Did some thread cleaning to mop up the blood, do not continue this here Re: Art - Sponson - 04-09-2011 (04-09-2011, 03:25 PM)Eightball link Wrote: Not sure that this shouldn't go into the longest thread instead (since I didn't actually design the templates) but a hobby I picked up recently is making sprite art with perler beads: The advance wars stuff is fantastic! Its a shame pixel art is like a million times harder than drawing. Had an assignment due for class that was a 64px and a 128px sprite, shit was so hard, I really never knew. Re: Art - Reevesith - 04-09-2011 That's pretty good Eightball, used to do a bit of bead work but a few moves, I lost my needles. ??? Part of me is tempted to start doing this again because sprite art is easier than designing my own stuff, yet still hard. Just spackle that bitch up and not only is it way lighter, its also way easier to carve, a nice varnish will protect it from bumps and grinds, but it ain't anything to be chuckin'. [/quote]$20 is after bringing the price down to something more reasonable ;x And foam ones wouldn't last at all if they were sat on, nor would they stay in a holster due to lack of weight/stiffness. What atom said, these are sturdy and have heft, floral foam + spackle or bonding agent wouldn't provide nearly as smooth of a surface. not to mention you step, sit on, or look at the other ones funny and they'll fall apart. These Ive already handled roughly at a con and they aren't going to break and the protective coating I put on is just thick enough so you'd really have to try to chip the paint. The wood is ~$6, then about 2.5 - 3 ish man hours per ball of work means that $20 is really a steal for what I should be charging per hour of work. With some new techniques I've learned I should be able to make them look much nicer, and I'd probably charge $40 for those. Re: Art - sk8mystery23 - 04-11-2011 All you have to do is start making things like Master balls and Premier balls and the money will start rolling in. |
