If if makes you feel any better, it sorta seems they took a lot of the scary parts and crammed em into the demo. Full game has them spread out quite a bit. Still definatly worth $25 though.

idk
i was even talking with friends on skype, so i wasn't fully immersed in the game like I am when I played hl and play hl2
i'll prolly buy it though, it looks fun

FEAR 2 takes place in the game universe before FEAR 1 right?
I would rather beat the first one before so i don't miss story.

Starts right before the ending of the second actually. I didn't play the first one and had a pretty good idea what was going on.  Go look up a quick synopsis on FEAR 1 and you won't really miss anything.

There's this girl with telepathic abilities who was locked in a room underground most her life, she's dead-ish but still alive in spirit form and still pissed. There's some replica soldiers who are commanded through telepathic commands who apparently hate you too. Then there's this company Armacham who also hate you. The only people who don't hate you are your squad mates from the F.E.A.R. team or something. Sorta the basics without giving away any spoilers you might not wanna hear.

Re: Game Deal Thread - zaneyard - 09-25-2009

i might actually pick it up.

i'm afraid though
someone hold me

Re: Game Deal Thread - Wedge - 09-25-2009

There is nothing scary about FEAR.  And there is nothing in the plot worth paying attention to either.  Decent shootery acshun games though (especially compared to most of the consolerific rubbish these days).

Uh no, I tried, but when they reused the same stupid ghost sequence 20 times and had me listening to boring recorded phone messages, it was hard to be interested.  That was the first game anyways.

Re: Game Deal Thread - Wedge - 10-01-2009

The Spirit Engine 2 is on sale, which I thought would be too obscure to ever go on sale.  Kinda interested in it for that price, I played the demo and it seemed like a really unique take on oldschool console RPGs, with you literally moving along a linear world and the semi-automated combat system.  It seemed really well designed and had nice graphics and music though.  Might pick it up for that price.

Re: Game Deal Thread - Surf314 - 10-02-2009

The complete set of incredible machine games are on sale at gog.

Or... or, you could get Audiosurf the same price, but knowing how I'll be responded to by saying that, I'll just say this.

You can get Audiosurf and Mount & Blade for $10, a $40 deal!

I watched my friend play it at his house (me and another guy were finishing a puzzle)

The guy i was finishing the puzzle with had played it and whenever he was looking the right way to where a ghost thing would come up he'd shout LOOK BEHIND YOU, A GHOST!

Re: Game Deal Thread - K2 - 10-13-2009

You have until next Monday to pay however much you want for World of Goo.

Get it for a penny if you're a cheap-ass (which is probably what I would do if I didn't already have it), but it's worth at least five bucks.

Re: Game Deal Thread - SAVAGE-0 - 10-15-2009
