SUCCESS!!! I figured out my problem (for some reason the hotfix wasn't properly extracting to the mod folder). I had to manually move the files over to the mod folder. Once I did that, boom, worked with no problems. My best kill of last night was while I was in a Manpack PPC equipped elemental. I had jumped and was in mid air when an enemy tank collided with a friendly mech and was on its side. I hit the tank on it's underside with the PPC and kaboom. The game is sick.
I also discovered that an alpha strike with a Puma Prime causes you to shut down.

Isn't a Puma Prime dual PPCs? Such a small mech with not very much heat management

yep, not a very good fighter but it works as a buzzard. Just search the battlefield for near dead mechs and put a couple PPCs in them. It'll get the job done.
