Re: CPU is fucking hot - zaneyard - 08-08-2010 idk man my 965 never has problems with overheating Re: CPU is fucking hot - Didzo - 08-08-2010 Get a phase change cooler. Re: CPU is fucking hot - Kirby - 08-08-2010 Do you still have that snarled ass mess of a cable clusterfuck in the case? or that Vornado fan that's probably creating a low air-pressure area inside your CPU cooler because it's got 2 different fans blowing on it at different speeds? What is the actual speed of the CPU fan, not it's % rate, what's the RPM's? If you blasted the fan w/ compressed air and just let it free-spin, you very well coulda blown out a bearing and it's running at like no RPM and reporting rong. Are you using the stock cooler on a 125W AMD Quad Core? How much paste did you apply, because 2 months is about right for the stuff to 100% cure and be at it's optimum, not the exact opposite. Re: CPU is fucking hot - copulatingduck - 08-08-2010 amd fucking sucks raped with ease james Re: CPU is fucking hot - HeK - 08-08-2010 Does your case still look the same as it does in the first post? Cause there is A LOT you need to do...... Re: CPU is fucking hot - Versus - 08-08-2010 Not at home right now, but I remember the RPM for the cpu fan was in the 4-digit range. I still kind of have that cable clusterfuck. Mother f'ing non-modifiable PSUs. Last night I leaned my case against my desk at an angle of, I'd guess, 25 degrees, and rotated my vornado so that it is no longer blowing directly at my heatsink/fan. Yes, stock cooler. edit: it's like 1800RPM Re: CPU is fucking hot - HeK - 08-08-2010 Step one, put the side panel back on the case. Your computer case must be closed so that proper airflow is maintained. Make sure you have sufficient front/rear case fans to pull air through your case. Step two, get zip ties, and fix your wiring mess. All unused PSU cables should be shanked and tucked away out of the path of air flow. Step three, get a can of duster and clean out all the built up dust/hair. Optional, you may need to purchase a larger heatsink for your CPU. [/quote] overheating problem was pretty much fixed after I leaned my comp and rotated fan to not blow directly at it, but surprisingly (for me), it's getting almost as good temperatures with the sides on as it was leaned over, vornado blowing on it, both sides off. next time i go to fry's maybe i'll buy some zip ties and even more compressed air. Re: CPU is fucking hot - copulatingduck - 08-09-2010 y not just buy a new computer i know ur dad has the money Re: CPU is fucking hot - Versus - 08-09-2010 maybe he does but i don't Re: CPU is fucking hot - copulatingduck - 08-09-2010 need i remind you?
