or, you know, BREATHING FIRE

Fire's short ranged o.=.o plus.... me and fire.... yes it works... but damned if I don't set every fucking thing around me on fire too... Ask anyone that's played L4D with me XD

I thought that breath weapons were only x number of uses per day and therefore not a reliable weapon in case of zombies.
Well, depending on if he takes a player class that is a caster, such as a cleric or wizard, he can have additional spells per day to back up his race template, making a usage per day a moot point.
I thought breath weapons and usage per day depended upon the type of dragon and age.
That is true, but if he took character levels, he'd have enough ammo in other things to not really worry about just his breath running out. It's like a barbarian with levels in frenzied berserker. Sure, you can run outta rages, but then you got frenzies to fall back on and oh god I'm such a nerd.  Sad
I think the problem is that unless you have an awesome DM he's not going to let you play a dragon character.
We did once. Dragon cleric, Drow druid/ranger, Orc barbarian/frenzied berserker/fighter and me a Human paladin/rogue. We tried our damnedest to make the game broken, and succeeded on the most part. Ah 3.5 edition, it's like I'm a kid again.

Our DM is mad at me for taking down a 'boss' in one turn with the half-dragon's firebreath o.=.o (Act suprised, I play D&D and play a half-dragon)

Better have a damn good backstory for a GM to let you do something like that

Re: Zombies - Luinbariel - 12-01-2010

Dragon magazine had an illustration of a really hot half-dragon female character. After that, I wanted to play one but my DM at the time was like LOLNO

In a more serious business game, you'd have to have a reason for it. Probably with some severe handicaps since it sound like a pretty OP race. Either the character would have to be cursed somehow, or the product of some freakish bestiality that would mean that would be generally shunned by pretty much everyone and run out of towns growing up.

As long as you balance it and the person doesn't meta-game stuff, it can be done right

Thing is I'm pretty sure that some dragons can take human form in the D&D world. While it would be extremely rare it is not completely unheard of. Dragon hybrid children rarely survive I believe but yes, they did have some handicaps. I think the magazine had laid out the rules for a half-dragon character from the ground up.

I think Silver dragons generally were able to take human form, and maybe some others.

Edit: found some more info.. Also we should maybe make a D&D thread somewhere.

http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Half-Dragon_%284e_Race%29

The product between a tryst of a mortal race and a a great drake, half-dragons are as varied as the human they may be descended from. They may be found amongst outcasts and loners or as nobles and leaders amongst the greatest of society. They might be the great part-human warrior with predator tendencies, the plucky, coppery-skined halfling thief or the secluded dwarven wizard who wears a hood to hide her draconic-tainted blood.

Play a half-dragon if you want to...

    * To have a dragon's strength in body and mind
    * To be anything from a noble, unique knight to a way to seek clean your blood
    * To be a member of a race that favors the warlord, wizard and swordmage classes

Half-Dragon Characteristics: Aloof, Ambitious, Competitive, Inquisitive, Materialistic, Ravenous, Solitary

Looks like there is plenty of room for personal glory AND failings.

...I'm not sure nick hit any of that... All I remember off the top of my head was a +4 Level modifier, several bonuses to strength and a few extra skills... I'll ask him in language arts and get back to you on that later.

Also.. Atom, I'm stuck at school, so yeah XD

You've been here long enough to know that if a thread doesn't derail by page five we aren't doing our job.

Re: Zombies - EarthlingJohn - 12-01-2010

Hrrm... To my left is a window which leads to a car... My uncles friend works at a car place and knows how to hotwire a car...

Scheme:
1.Warn Family, take knives and such, meet up with friends/more family
2. Hijack Various semi's
3. Raid Gas stations. Siphon gas and take all foods. Also stop at walmart and take all sanitary wipes, soap, things like that
4. Meet with local militia. Trade foods for guns/kindly ask for them.
5. stop at home depot, raid for tools. (chainsaws, wood, hammers, etc)
6. repeat 2-5 as we recruit more survivors while heading north.
Note: while moving north, we add minor reinforcements to the car with tools. Also raiding walmarts, REI's, Dicks, and Cabellas
7. Stay on road, fully armed, GPS's until they die, on trucks. We are a big clan of survivors. Infection cant spread That fast can it?
8. Alaska bound, stay there. Keep guns and such, live out of trucks. Insulate the truck payloads.
9. Meet locals. No zombies in alaska unless they mutate.
10. live

Re: Zombies - beep beep diglett - 12-03-2010
