Just saw 30 minutes of live gameplay footage at Quakecon... it went from me being a "meh, maybe I'll get it later" to "HOLY FUCK I NEED THIS!". Seriously, it looks amazing (not crysis level, but it was really impressive and he was running on the 360) and some of the features they showed were awesome. Dragons in it have tons of AI and just free-roam the world, sometimes they do firebombing runs, other-times they can pick up random NPCs and toss them. Also Dark Brotherhood returns.

Do you know where I can find a video?

Every time one goes up on youtube it gets taken down pretty quickly.  I can't vouch for this link, but it has the same name as one of the youtube uploads of it.

I'm downloading now. I'll let you know if it's the one I saw.
Edit: Yep it is. I was about the 4th row from the front, same video though. It did get kinda old hearing everybody shout "KILL IT!" the second something came on the screen. But yeah, there you are.

Might be just me, but I'm really loving the arabic influence this dunmer has on his look.

Also, sexy Dark Brotherhood outfit. And northern lights

Oh wow, for a moment I had to think about what you talking about. You said dunmer and I was like "wait, the dark elves?"
This is probably because I always made my dark elves' skin so black it was red. Made em look 20% cooler.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Hobospartan - 08-12-2011

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Hobospartan - 08-12-2011

That was the name of the dudes character.  They only had an hour or so to play, so I'm sure he just picked the first thing to come to mind.

Lololol, and of course it was a Orc.

The Argonians look kinda funky.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - backfire - 08-12-2011

Okay so not trying to be a dick, but I looked at these short gameplay clips and was really unimpressed. Where's this video I keep hearing about that made everyone ready to throw money at bethesda? I'm just still not sure why everyone's so crazy hyped over this thing.

Re: TES V: Skyrim - Trace - 08-12-2011

Non-scripted dragons that freeroam the world is what sold me on it

Not to be rude as well, but you have never cared for the Elder Scrolls series in general so there would be no reason for you to care much about Skyrim. For me Oblivion holds strong nostalgia and many lost hours ( no regrets btw). For me I love the lore and gameplay style of Oblivion and seeing the improvements Skyrim makes makes me super happy

Freeroaming dragons sound kinda cool.

I dunno, maybe it's just because I have the old "no diagonal movement animation and awkward camera-zoom when talking to people" taste still in my mouth (though same issue in fallout and I put 100+ hours in that). The $60 price point just makes it even less appealing. Last time I dropped $60 on a new release, it ended up not even being worth $40.

Not tryin to go "this games sucks" or anything though. I mean sure it looks great, but I'm guessin it's just not my cup of tea :-\

It's funny, because Gamebryo really isn't all that bad. Just the way Bethesda used it wasn't the best. Look at Catherine, that was built on Gamebryo and looks better than the Fallouts and Oblivion, etc. did. Not to mention it doesn't even have anywhere near as many glitches as those games did.

The glitches in oblivion gave it so much character and charm though.

Playing oblivion while blazed and seeing a wolf come shooting out of a rock is unfathomably hilarious.

That said, an updated 'for serious' current gen oblivion is what I'm ready for.

[/quote]I somehow ended up flying into the sky at some point and landing on a random bandit, don't remember if it killed him or not though.
