Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Benito Mussolini - 08-29-2008

I voted for 12 out of the 17 maps.

The ones that survived were Valve made/approve, which I don't even know why they would be taken out of rotation, and some other maps that were good enough to stay.

I think many maps are overrated and Valve maps are underrated.

Because doing the whole stock/custom/stock thing does not work, you gotta chose one or the other, ducks was all stock, but then he decided to make it no crits and partially arena, and its sat mostly empty since Sad

I put badwater on rotation since its new, but other than that its not that I don't like all of the valve maps, its just about offering something else. Stocks tend to attract more scrubs and custom maps , and there's a thousand other servers that put stocks up only all the time and only a handful that do customs.

Which map was the one with the large bridge that connected the two islands in space, and was one-flag-CTF? That was a fucking win map.
Really?   That was the map I made.  I'm flattered.

Really?  I honestly thought it was alot of fun ;D

I mean sure it was pretty basic, but the concept was great and I loved the whole launch pad/low grav idea going on the middle.  The action there was great and the launch pads/high area's added alot to it IMO.  My only criticism was that the actual capture area's seemed too big considering almost no action happens there, so it just seems unnecessary to have it so big (as a large sized area that is open implies a pretty important spot to have lots of room for combat).  That's only a small criticism though considering it doesn't really affect the gameplay all that much.  Just seemed a tiny bit "excessive" in size considering nothing ever goes on there.

What's the map called again?

CTF_CLASSY, I think.  Also, it needs the death rockets implemented.

I hate Science 2 because it's not fun.  I could come up with some legitimate reasons, but I'm not in an analytical mood right now.

It's confusing as anything, I don't care how many layout tweaks or improved map images on the walls.  I can't find my way around, and those that can have a huge advantage.  Also the middle cap turns out to be the only one that matters most games and its really not fun.  It's hard to defend but at the same time gets ignored by crappy teams.

How's that?
[/quote]

The first reason doesn't work for me, I know my way around pretty well.

Sad

I've been meaning to take a poll on what arena maps to actually include in the rotation, I've just been busy lately (I haven't even played tf2 in a week). Also, the server seems to have been having more "Connection Error" problems where the server just resets since this last update. That doesn't really help fill the server either. :'(

I'll fix the rotation on #2 sometime this weekend. Maybe...

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 08-29-2008

I voted Aqua since I don't really like it, but i wouldn't be too bothered if it stayed. As for additions, I think CP Stag would make a good one.

Oops.  I voted as if it was "Which maps do you want IN" >_<

You can change your vote

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - KorJax - 08-29-2008

Ah I see, thanks Tongue

Voted for Aqua, Canalzone, and roswell to get the boot.

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - JoKeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - 08-29-2008

I voted to take out cp_science2, dom_canalzone, arena_starship_b2, and cp_steel.

cp_science2: I don't have fun playing it. I usually play one round then rtv, and people will most of the time rtv with me, although that may be because they don't know the map.

dom_canalzone: When there is under 16 people on the server, the team with the scout(s) that knows the map wins. Coincidentally, the map causes the server to drop to under 16 people.

arena_starship_b2: I love this map and I love arena, but I can't stand crits in arena mode. I think it also causes a lot of ragequits.

cp_steel: I don't like this map.

I can fix this easily since theres a seperate arena config file if people want arena to be no crits

DO IT!

Despite the majority of my (non-)skill set being based around crockets, having to sit out due to a lucky crit is never fun.

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Wedge - 09-01-2008

Science is the best map ever when people don't "crai crai i are teh larst" and learn what to actually do.  And don't take out Canalzone, I'll never get bored of playing Engy there c.c

Plz gtfo with Secret Base though.  I know someone here made it, but it's really not up to snuff.  I mean jeese, you can still get stuck in geometry gap there.

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - [fr31ns]Karrde - 09-01-2008

Aqua (for reasons I've probably made everyone aware of by now Tongue ) and Freight.

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 09-02-2008

Removed my vote, aquas actually alright Smile

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Vongore - 09-02-2008

Why do you keep on voting Roswell!?

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Master Shake - 09-02-2008

Can we fix the rotation on server 2 please.  Someone mentioned it in game today, and I agree.  It doesn't fill up when its not dbowl/grush/warpath/mach, and there aren't enough regulars to fill both 1 and 2 on any given night.

Re: Rotation Shake Up (Again) - Master Shake - 09-06-2008

Im being serious about #2.  It's always empty.  I'd rather have a dbowl/grush server that stays full than an empty arena server. please?
