Re: Wildstar - Kor - 06-09-2014 I love the Explorer stuff so much, but the rest of the game feels just like WoW. Getting that sense of existential dread while doing yet another kill/fetch/touch the macguffin quest. If this was F2P, I'd fuck around with it more. <3 <3 War for the guest pass, I was on the fence about this, with the 60/15 upfront to see what it was all about. Re: Wildstar - WaR1761 - 06-09-2014 No problem. FYI Kor never play a Korean MMO, those are all about grinding. However on the other side MMOs are meant to be time sinks in some form or another. Trick is to have fun while doing it lol. Take a look at the attunement process for the first raid. (See below paragraph.) I am level 19 at the moment and I can say so far I haven't been bored. Last night was the first time I hit a quest that wasn't fun. I could have skipped it but I wanted to run through most content on my initial character. Was a quest to kill 200 of this one weak mob. Took maybe like 5min to finish but just left a bad taste in my mouth. However that was only one quest out of many. Best part so far was healing in an adventure. Was a weird way to think and play with telegraph heals. Have to "aim" at allies and can totally whiff and miss the group while trying to avoid enemy fire. Always some friendly ranged class far away so have to hoof it out there to heal em then run back to tank lol.

Re: Wildstar - WaR1761 - 06-09-2014 Also useful info-graphic. (See below paragraph.) That Attunement reminds me of Vanilla WoW's Molten Core process. Plenty of hoops and shenanigans. I'm no stranger to the MMO scene: Ultima Online, EQ, Anarchy Online(3 years), WoW(7 years), FFXI, SWTOR, Warhammer Online, to name a few. Maybe the lens I'm looking through is a little jaded, but I guess fresh ideas/systems/execution is a little harder for an old salt. Sufficed to say though, I'm impressed with how the world is presented; not only from an artistic aspect, but how people are eased into the play session. I feel the guest restrictions work against getting people to enjoy the fullness of the systems offered; wouldn't have minded just fooling around with crafting. Finally, Stalker is awesome(Always play stealthers), but as I read deeper, also the least potent class Re: Wildstar - Eschatos - 06-09-2014 (06-09-2014, 03:27 PM)Kor link Wrote:
That Attunement reminds me of Vanilla WoW's Molten Core process. I'm sure there'll be buffs at some point in the near future. You planning on sticking around? Re: Wildstar - Kor - 06-10-2014 As mentioned above, there's not enough here that's fresh enough to convince me to currently commit to an MMO. I have to make it clear that I don't half-ass MMO's in general; I prefer to play at the min-max pinnacle. I find that casual play erodes my drive to see that min-max achieved. I might peek at this again in the future, if there's something worth driving towards. Re: Wildstar - The Generic Name - 06-12-2014 Just hit 50 with my warrior. Gonna start raiding soon Re: Wildstar - WaR1761 - 06-12-2014 Gratz on 50, still at 22 lol. unrelated to that $%&* you, *&$% this game, brb uninstalling... lol tried Ruins of Kel Voreth last night it was like a mini raid in the sense of skill needed. Jebus it's gonna take some work and practice. Re: Wildstar - Gasman - 06-12-2014 (06-12-2014, 09:34 AM)WaR1761 link Wrote: Gratz on 50, still at 22 lol. Wait 'till you get to the boss. Bullet hell galore. It was easily my most fave part of beta. Re: Wildstar - WaR1761 - 06-12-2014 We got to the last boss and got him below 40% multiple times. was more of an issue of time and needing to work the next day. Re: Wildstar - Surf314 - 06-13-2014 GMG has a 25% off coupon for this game. Is it worth it? Is it worth it? In the end it's a pretty standard MMO, though with better combat. Buy it if you're into that sort of thing. Re: Wildstar - Gump - 06-14-2014 Anyone still have a guest pass? I found one, but I'd really appreciate being able to invite a real-life friend to play. NEVERMIND my friend got one. thanks for reading Re: Wildstar - Surf314 - 06-16-2014 I've never actually played a standard MMO Re: Wildstar - Luinbariel - 07-01-2014 Played for a bit, enjoyed that it was super cute and neat. Then I remembered that I dislike MMO's and I stopped. But it was fun being a catperson. Re: Wildstar - FlyingMongoose - 07-01-2014 Until it goes free to play I will remain uninterested. Re: Wildstar - The Generic Name - 07-02-2014 Credd isnt to expensive on my realm, so I got me some. I still have saved $13 thanks to GMG. meaning I will only have to technically play $2 if I cant earn enough in game currency. The new content drop this month is pretty alright, but I wish I had a guild that communicated more in game and actually used their teamspeak for general chit chat instead of just for raids.
