Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - TronPaul - 07-03-2015 To be honest it should be doable to convert the old bb code to the new bb code. I'm down with helping to write some ugly sql queries. Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - FlyingMongoose - 07-06-2015 Other than what has already been reported I made a thread in there and did some in-depth-bb-code-posting and it all seems to work quite well. Honestly I don't really think there's anything that CAN be broken (I've tried some failed SQL injection on registration pages too). MyBB seems clean to me. Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - FlyingMongoose - 07-10-2015 So I think we won't get much more non production testing anyway. I think it's better to roll it out sooner rather than later. Busy week, give it time Re: - FlyingMongoose - 07-10-2015 I understand just pointing out there's really little to no more testing necessary Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - Dtrain323i - 07-10-2015 in the little bit of fiddling around i've done i haven't seen anything broken. Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - HeK - 07-15-2015 I've been writing a plugin that makes the needed changes to mycode so that it can parse the old smf style bb code.
That's what I have found and fixed so far. What I won't be able to fix are the missing avatars and old links to the old forum. The URLs used in either are non-compatible. Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - TronPaul - 07-16-2015 Wouldn't it be easier to write a conversion script that converts old bbcode to new bbcode? Probably but it sounds like he's getting pretty far anyway. Which is what I am doing, however I have to find all the instances where it differs. The SMF 'bb'code documentation isn't accurate as to how it's implemented. [/quote] Seems like yet another good reason in an ever increasing list of reasons as to why it's a good idea to move away from SMF. Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - Dr. Zaius - 07-30-2015 FEEL THE BERN Re: Forum Update/Upgrade - FlyingMongoose - 08-06-2015 By the way; for theme-ing mybb; I recommend just branching the main theme and editing that; in case things go funky on an upgrade in the future you can always revert to original this way. RE: Forum Update/Upgrade - HeK - 09-07-2015 As you can see, we have cut over to the new board. Please post any problems here. Yes, I realize that your avatars have been removed. That is a *feature* of the migration process. Think of it as new beginnings. |
