Played a few games today. I like it so far, but imo it has some balance problems. The assault class seems to be the most prevalent and the f2000 seems to be the end-all gun. It's got loads of ammunition, really tight spread, and it can take someone down quick. In addition to the f2000, they have that stealth detect thing. I don't know if it's intentional, but it seems like I can't play stealth at all when there's just one or two assault classes. They spot me the minute I enter the area and gun me down. Both games I played ended with excessive spawn camping.

It's a whole rock paper scissors paradigm. Assaults aren't always going to have their thermal visors on, and I've played with some stealths today that made me want to set my computer on fire and never play games again. I do think the F2000 is a little bit better than the Avenger and will probably see some adjustments in our next update.
As for the spawn camping towards the end of a game, the commander does have a surrender button to save the losing team the agony of getting blown up for 10 minutes. But I've seen a lot of games where it looks like one team is about to eat it, only to come back and slaughter the other team.

Beta was before launch for pre-orders. We're planning on doing a free weekend sometime in the next two months though.

Well, hasn't happened for my team yet. I would love to get a better understanding of the game though. I'm still fairly confused about the RTS portion of the game.

I've only touched the RTS portion once, at the end of a match when our commander quit and nobody replaced him for a  good 2 minutes, but it seems pretty straightforward once you figure out where the buttons are.

The FPS bit is fantastic though.  Seems very balanced, for the most part, and encourages teamwork. Go siege?  Get wrecked by stealth unless you get an assault to escort you and watch your back.  And having a medic at a forward position that doesn't have a supply station yet can mean the difference between holding that and getting pushed out.

Actually this game is kinda cool if your commander doesn't suck.

There's actually a sourcemod plugin so admins can demote and promote commanders at will. Should probably look at sticking it on our server.

The F2000 really irks me. The only other thing I have an issue with at this point is the redundantly-iffy backstabs.

Not a fan of the bug that makes grenades and mines stick in the air. At all. It eliminates half the usefulness of the Engineer, and renders the Grenade Assault (otherwise would be my fav class) completely useless.

Also, why does Sniper Stealth have two secondary weapons that flicker? Is he supposed to have the knife in addition to the pistol?

Yeah, the grenade mine float thing is because that server is fucked.  I've been on others where everything worked.

Dunno about the stealth kit, I've only played assault and exo Sad

Also^2, there's something funky with power distribution for the red team, they don't link together properly so even if you have a bunch of distributed power supplies along your chain of relays, the networks separate and you're eternally low on power.
