It's still the best calm mind passer apart from the neigh impossible to acquire Celebi. Re: Pokemons DS - Fail Medic - 04-04-2009 Necro 'cause not worth a new thread. I recently bought Pokemon Platinum. It is the first Pokemon game I've ever played (well I played Monster Rancher but doesn't count). It is both tedious and rewarding at the same time. I find it humorous that their actual cries are screeches and 8-bit static rather than their actual names (until you talk to an NPC one, lol). I also laughed at how dangerous everyone says it is to go into tall grass without Pokemon of your own. That means if you're empty-handed and you walk into a thicket a level 2 Starly will peck your intestines out while a level 3 Bidoof bites your legs off. That's hardcore. Anyway, I started off with a Piplup. He's my first officer, a Prinplup now, and he Bubblebeams Geodudes for laughs. Third in command is a Staravia (?) who is purging the forests of all insects. I'm working on an Abra and I heard Magikarp actually turns into something nice at 20 so I'm using Splash Attack on everything but it doesn't do anything omfg he is so useless goddamn he just flops back and forth and does no damage wtf?!?!?!? I called him Omnisplash but I should have called him Useless. I think Hidden Machines are irritating and I wish Pokemon could know... I don't know, six moves. I'm agonizing over just about every learned move. But if someone learns Splash Attack I'm going to release them to the wild because I would have lost all respect for them. I haven't messed with any of the wireless yet. Why? I'm too lazy to downshift my router so I can connect to it. Maybe later. I heard some of you want to battle. ... Anyway. Yeah. lol pokemon Re: Pokemons DS - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 04-04-2009 (04-04-2009, 03:49 PM)Fail Medic link Wrote: Anyway, I started off with a Piplup. Just put Magikarp at the front of your party, and switch to something else first turn for easy EXP (or just leave him at the day care till he gets to level 19.) And yeah, Garydos is beastly in both the regular game, and the competitive metagame. On an aside, can anyone help me move some pokemon from Pearl to Platinum?
Yeah, it had some trouble in 1st and 2nd gen, but since R/S it's been a top tier choice, probably even one of the best in D/P/P, right up there with Tyranitar and Salamence. Yeah, Scyther pretty , but Scizor pretty hot stuff now. [edit]Lol fail, try putting physical attacks on him. Go with Waterfall instead of Surf and so on[/edit] Re: Pokemons DS - Versus - 04-04-2009 ..."Garydos"? : gyrados Re: Pokemons DS - Honest - 04-04-2009 Gyrados sucks with dual elements. Also, Gyarados is powerful, but it's so fucking weak it's almost useless on a competitive map, with a ton of weaknesses Re: Pokemons DS - Benito Mussolini - 04-05-2009 (04-05-2009, 09:53 PM)Vongore link Wrote: it's Gyarados. It's stealth rock weakness hurts it, but it's bulky enough to cope and it's pretty difficult to switch into, especially after a dragon dance. As for 'nito, there's actually some pretty great ones. Off the top of my head; Jolteon, Zapados, Magnezone and Electrivire are all top tier. It's not so much the type of the pokemon, as it is the attack though as plenty pokemon are packing Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Electric. /Pokemon Nerd Re: Pokemons DS - Vongore - 04-05-2009 (04-05-2009, 10:00 PM)Benito Mussolini link Wrote:
"Ton" of weaknesses = electricity.
