Re: Planetside Month? - A. Crow - 09-13-2008

i'm gonna go ahead and download this, maybe register tonight for Great PS Justice?

Re: Planetside Month? - Sarin - 09-13-2008

If any of you guys start playing I've had to to start again cause of that ban.

I'm still on Vanu but my new name's ManuelCalavera.

Strength in numbers, Technology = Might

[sub]Caff, am I doing it right? Tongue[/sub]

Re: Planetside Month? - Eschatos - 09-13-2008

I accidentally started my trial when I discovered it and tried to make sure it was valid.  I could always make another when this is up.  My Vanu guy is Escatchers.

Also we should create an outfit as soon as possible.

Re: Planetside Month? - Versus - 09-13-2008

woohoo, I logged in, started doing the tutorial, and then got the same message as Sarin. wtf.

I dunno, learn to follow directions?

(09-13-2008, 12:24 AM)CaffeinePowered link Wrote: My other question would be do have have an AMD dual core machine (or a laptop with speed stepping), if you have a dual core processor you need to get the dual core optimizer from AMD's website, if you dont have that all actions you do in game double in speed or some such non-sense, its considered exploiting and doing it once will get you a slap on the wrist.

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html
AMD Dual-Core Optimizer Version 1.1.4  - The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized.

^^ INSTALL. Also, turn off speed stepping. If you don't do either, you get accused of speed hacking and banned.

Re: Planetside Month? - Versus - 09-13-2008

I had only been ingame for a minute or two and hadn't even gotten a gun yet.

edit: and I was following exactly what it had been telling me to do.

Re: Planetside Month? - CaffeinePowered - 09-13-2008

It could also be that the trials are not allowed  :Smile

I thought they had canceled doing them some time ago. I would also recommend asking SOE for the reason behind it. It sounds like it was an automated message. If Eschatos has been fine but the two of you are not then obviously something is wrong. I do know a while ago they put in an auto-kick if people moved a faster than a certain speed for a certain amount of time.

To someone that had already played the game it would be obvious, but since none of you have I cant observe you to figure out why. I guess the question would be after Sarin took some of the advice I told him last nice if he still gets a suspension or if he's fine.

Is there one for intel dual cores or is it not needed?

You might want to find out WHY

Since you know, they can and will suspend you just as fast if you buy it, so dont waste your money

Yeah, try it again with the dual core patch thingy.

Re: Planetside Month? - Versus - 09-13-2008

I have a quadcore Tongue

off to go check AMD's website.

edit: apparently there isn't anything like the dualcore thing, so...guess that's ruled out.

Re: Planetside Month? - CaffeinePowered - 09-13-2008

Try running on single core affinity

Make a character on the euro server and try there

Re: Planetside Month? - Versus - 09-13-2008

will do

edit: apparently single core affinity fixed it.

Re: Planetside Month? - Benito Mussolini - 09-13-2008

I have a problem... I dowloaded the shit from Eschatos' link, no problem. Same with the first install. But when I launch the PlanetSide shortcut icon on my desktop, the window that opens freezes (and nothing gets installed Sad)...

So I can't install it that way... I tried messing with the Sony Station shits and I got to create an account (!), but that's as far as I could have gone...

If anyone has another link or a solution to my problem, please help.

Try running the launcher in a compatibility mode for XP/98, also set to single core affinity

So are we actually doing this anytime soon?  When's Caff getting his computer back and running?
