Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - KarthXLR - 03-28-2009

Just noticed that the 182 drivers came out.

Update if you feel it necessary.

It clams that it has performance upgrades for Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, and Fallout 3, excluding a few others.

I give you a +1, and you fuck it all up by saying excluding. -1 because I had to fix it for you. Dick.

I still get those weird flickering black boxes over everything. I've no fucking idea what causes it or when it started...even after a clean install of GPU drivers D:

I like turtles.

On topic has anyone given these drivers a test run? I'm kinda holding off on installing them for right now since me + drivers = catastrophic meltdown.

Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - Surf314 - 03-30-2009

They weren't compatible with the mobile version so I'm holding off.  The mobile one I found was listed as a beta and F that when it comes to drivers.

I've really only done TF2 and Guild Wars since I DL'd.

TF2 has a slight improvement on my end.

Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - x - 04-03-2009

Updated 182s came out yesterday, mostly bug-fixes it would seem. More interestingly, the 185 Beta was released with some nice new features.

Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - Wedge - 04-03-2009

Oh wow, they're making ambient occlusion an actual feature in the drivers now?  Neat.

I'm debating whether or not I want to try that 185.

I'm still debating even using the 182. I know something will go horribly wrong and my computer will try taking over the planet or something D:

Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - KarthXLR - 05-11-2009

185.85 came out today. Gonna test them out and see what they do for me.

If not, I still have me old driver

Re: To anyone with an Nvidia 8 series card - KarthXLR - 05-11-2009

TF2 got a huge increase in performance on my end.
