I have one without the battery, but it makes holding the psp much more comfortable.

i'm considering getting a psp for roms and emulators, if i bought one from any commercial store, would i be able to, or did sony "fix" that

If it's the 2000, no. But if it's the 3000 then yeah, your fucked. That's what happened to me D: Luckily Amazon still sells the former.

worked my first camp, got paid and I'm about to buy muh PSP this weekend.
