Re: Does humanity embarrass you? - A. Crow - 04-14-2009

I only read the first post in this thread, so I'd like to state that I've been driving a pickup truck lately.  And i've been putting off doing the laundry, so I was wearing an Indy racing tshirt today on my day off.  And at the gas station today I was forced to shout in an unfriendly and threatening manner at the dumb, drunk bitch who almost plowed into my parked truck while I was filling the tank with a highly flammable liquid.  There was also a goodwill bag clearly visible in the cab of my truck, because, god damnit, If I can get an Austin Reed blazer for $5, I'm going to.  I probably looked like a horribly redneck eastern kentucky jobless jackass.  And I have a physics degree from one of the oldest and respected institutions in these united states.

Fyre, if you suddenly get a throbbing headache after reading that, don't worry, that's the aneurysm, it'll rupture soon and it'll all be over.

Oh wait, we're talking about piracy now?

I personally like how instead of flying in on a helo and just plain landing on the destroyer, SOCOM decided they needed to parachute into the water, at night, then rendezvous with the destroyer.

are you seriously taking pity on americans beating up on pirates? if i picked a fight with an NFL linebacker and got beat down everyone would laugh. whats the difference?

Not by your example, but if you were poor and desperate and tried to rob an NFL linebacker at gunpoint.  Then a sniper from 100 yards away made a judgment call and shot you in the head, a justified decision but still one he may have troubles with later in life.  Then it was filmed and people cheered at you getting a bullet through your brain.  I would be embarrassed and disgusted at the people cheering.  Everything else in that example I would be OK with, although I don't think you getting shot in the head is going to do much to stop robbery but it was a judgment call based on facts on the ground and to second guess the sniper would be a dick move.

That's pretty much my point of view.

But Radio would deflect the bullet with a piece of tile then toss it Oddjob style and slice off the snipers head.

I'd cheer then.

But were you screaming and cursing and throwing court papers at your ex, while your little girl was standing there crying?

He's made a clear point and I think you should be paying attention to its main theme: everyone has a tough time, we're human. We are NOT perfect, not one of us.

I've made a clear point and I think you should be paying attention to its main theme: on the great balance sheet in the sky, many people are a definitive negative to humanity's net worth.

(Oh btw, Luin. Try not to take me so srsly.)

I had a response here, but I don't think I want to keep on going with this. I could get into a flame war or what have you, but it isn't worth it.

I was trying to defuse the tension by posting a humorous animated gif.

spoilt stuck up know it all shits that think they are better than anyone else in this world, they grow goatees and wear ironic t shirts to impress girls and fit in with there like minded liberal philosophy/psychology student peers, offering nothing special to the world but still complaining every step of the way, they claim that military force and the government are both useless and stupid, yet without either they couldn't live their academical pointless life which slowly grinds to a halt as their liver disease that stemmed from being an alcoholic artist with beret and ironic cigarillos drooping out of their outspoken know it all mouths, it pisses me off that they have had the education and chance to be something useful to the human population as a whole and focusing on working their way up that social ladder, private schools, tutor groups and not getting a job until after college, all accumulating in a job in media, arts, sociology or leech, they are smart enough to realise they can easily contribute to the general population with the decent brainpower and education available to them yet still take the easy route through life preferring to work in a higher payed job so they can retire at 50 and live on a yacht
