Re: Dota 2 - Squishy3 - 11-25-2012

holy fucking shit i just played with the what may have been the worst fucking team ever.

ok, so we're at like, 45 minutes in, all our barracks are dead, i suggested a plan since we had outfed the entire team except drow. (the other 4 on their team were all ~16, drow and my team were all level 25) the plan is simple. Sven and I (Tidehunter) stay behind to decimate the mega creeps since we both have cleave. Everyone else goes up to push mid to win. When it comes time to team fight, I boots of travel in then blink in and ravage. simple, right?

LOL NOPE WE GOTTA STAY DEFENDING. OH LOOK WE HAVE TO ROSHAN EVEN THOUGH IT WILL HELP ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOBODY BECAUSE WE CAN DEMOLISH EVERYONE EASILY WITH RAVAGE + LICH ULT AND HAVE NO FUCKING NEED FOR AEGIS. NOPE WE ALL HAVE TO DEFEND EVEN THOUGH WE KILLED THE ENTIRE ENEMY TEAM WHILE WE WERE DEFENDING AND THEY HAVE NO BUYBACK

i think this is the worst game of dota i have ever played

Well that's 5 people who have specifically expressed interest so far, and I'm sure there are plenty of others who would be willing to come play.  How does sometime this Sunday sound to yall?
I can't make it, flying back to college that day.

No worries, Sunday was just a tentative suggestion.  How about Tuesday?

Re: Dota 2 - Trace - 11-26-2012

I'm fine with Tuesday  8)

Re: Dota 2 - Eschatos - 11-27-2012

Well since nobody but Squishy and I is on, this is getting postponed.  Sound off if you would or would not be interested in trying again this Sunday.

Bumping for in-house shenanigans tonight at around 9pm EST! I also made a steam group so you can make announcements if you want to get a game going.

No actually, I'm here to claim the title of ultimate Dota2 noob.

I tried playing a few bot games and they were fun even though I didn't really know what I was doing (and sometimes it takes a very long time to find a game to play in so I tend to lose interest since I'm impatient. Is there an option to play with bots as teammate against bots? I think part of the problem with the long wait times is actually finding the other 3 people to play with). There is definitely a lot to learn in this game so I don't think I'll be getting good any time soon since I don't have a lot of free time for gaming lately. When I do manage to know what I'm doing, I'd love to play against real people.

Re: Dota 2 - zaneyard - 12-02-2012

i learned how to play by playing with people.
all the time
bots are good for practicing how to last hit

what makes dota is the variables (people)

sure you might suck for a while, but there's a difference between being unable to learn and being terrible
if you're a fan of reading, search for "welcome to dota 2, you suck"
if you like watching games, purge is a great teacher

if anyone wants coaching or a play buddy, pm me on steam.

just cause it's random doesn't mean it's cool to stomp nooby players with.
