Today a representative of Wingnut Films talked to my class. Though it wasn't the great Peter Jackson, he still brought with him a Red Epic. 30 of it's cousins are being used to film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Was pretty awesome getting to use it for just a few minutes.
Nice, I've been wondering how big those camera's are (or how you're supposed to operate them). What uni are you at?
I go to Vancouver Film School, and they do a lot of work with Wingnut. The camera was fully assembled, so it was pretty good size... Not recommended for guerilla filmmaking at all. Was a blast to work with one, and makes me want to save my monies for it.

Also those were mm. The camera body (which was shown) really isn't that big. It's when you pack everything else on to it, does it get big and tripod friendly.
Awesome, wish I would've got to see it.

But on the bright side, we're shooting a short movie on film this semester, I've already got some ideas.

Just downloaded KCVDS and am dueling against my friend. Fun stuff especially for deck experimentation. We're also excited from playing Duelist of the Roses today (Finally beat Tea after getting a deck that wasn't complete crap).

I used to play all kinds of yu-gi-oh. Then a bunch of my heavy hitters got banned, a big problem since I played in a group with a guy who made a big shit about tournament stuff.
I just recently started getting into the ygo tcg so I've been mostly playing with a friend since I am still a bit intimidated and clueless (haven't read my rulebook in-depth yet) about playing in an actual match...duel...thing at the local card shop. I think I would be more inclined to play more seriously if my friends were into this, but alas they side with Magic.
Even so, it's really fun and kind of like chess to me but more exciting.
And much more complicated than pokemon tcg lol.

Scottsdale Community College. They have a highly recommended film program, but it is community college. Unfortunately we have to pay for all the extras, including film, development, and costs to rent the equipment.

I'm not sure how it is out where you are, but in Maryland at least, equipment rental isn't too bad, but the real killer cost is the insurance. When I shot my short film a few years ago, that was easily 50% of the budget.

I'll warn you now. Don't build a deck around one or two heavy hitters. Thousand Eyes Restrict was my power, and my downfall. It's also really hard to pull off the Inferno Tempest+ Gren Maju De Eiza trick more than once ever.

I'm still pretty bad at building a decent deck but right now I'm trying out a deck that is focusing on the blue eyes ultimate and 5 headed dragons, and king dragun.

And lol, I can't help but be reminded of Pegasus every time someone mentions thousand eyes restrict. And too bad it's banned from play.

Went out and had lunch with my wife then we went to the Omaha auto show. Looks like our next car is a 2013 Acura TSX.

it is a pretty sexy car. That reminds me that I forgot to go to the dealer and get a new set of quotes for the Passat I'm buying >_<

That's always a treat Smile except when it comes to development... And I hope the school pays for it and not you. Which school are you going to?
Scottsdale Community College. They have a highly recommended film program, but it is community college. Unfortunately we have to pay for all the extras, including film, development, and costs to rent the equipment.
Hahaha no way! I took a writing class there when I lived in Arizona, and I almost went there after I got out of high school. Do you know Jo Sparks or Carrie Jones?
Don't believe I do. Were they professors?
Yes they are/were. Carrie teaches TCM 100, and Jo taught TCM111 before she got a job transfer to Portland, Oregon.
I took TCM 100 last semester, I didn't get her. Got a fairly new guy.
