I find it more pathetic that such terrible writing is being celebrated.

I agree that it isn't always fun to fuck with someone like that... but seriously. HAVE YOU LOOKED AT ONE OF THESE BOOKS? I picked one up in the store to see what all the shit was about and put it right the fuck back down. NO ONE should publish something that is so terribly written. Technically, it is a giant mess. I'm not talking about vampire lore or even plot loopholes... TECHNICALLY, as a piece of writing, it is a giant shitrag. I don't think this kind of terrible grammar and structure is what we should be letting our kids or really anyone read.

Also a lot of the messages in the book are fucking lame, basically teaching guys its ok to be douchebag stalkers as long as they're hot and girls that it's ok to let someone stalk you (again, so long as he's hot).

Also Turtle, I think you're missed an important part of what's just happened; you've started doing the exact thing you're upset about by -1'ing people for THEIR opinions about someone else's opinion. You didn't seem pleased that some guy ruined everyone else's fun, and I can see that; but as soon as someone disagreed with you, you did the same thing to them.

I do admit i got kind of overly ranty about the whole thing. But all and all if there's a giant ass monster blowing shit up in tokyo, you don't continuosly shoot it with the same fucking crappy pistol you were assigned. You find a super badass gun that can take him down in one false swoop. Tiny guns just make him angry, so rawr.

I was going to be mean about this, but there's no point. You're kind of proving mine for me, and I think you're missing the bigger picture. Twilight, since it was released, has been under fire for MANY reasons and by many people. It is shit for more than one reason and ANY rant against it is a good rant.

What happens when you give novels like this to the public and revere them? You tell people that it's ok to be a bad writer and to ignore technicality, and pay them handsomely for their mistakes.
