If they could just do something about the hackers I think this game would be easily playable again. Although it would be nice to get a new district in with some new missions.

this is all.

I've discussed this with Kor in the past.
I compared the competitive level of this game to that of counter-strike. Players will go to extreme lengths to ensure that they win in their internet games and aimbotting was the preferred method to win in both games. My argument was that the CS community had better control over cheaters because each server had their own set of admins to dispense discipline for game play infractions.
This is what was sorely lacking in APB's system, non-existent peer review. I wouldn't suggest that each player have the ability to ban the other. There would have to be some way to flag players as bullshit though, then said player would be monitored 1 to 1 with a GM and pew pew.
This does sound like a lot of work for GM's. Which made me think of solutions for the workload. I remember there was a group of players in Anarchy Online that would volunteer their time to the company, and be given characters that were Semi-GM's with at least the ability to port you out of a hole in the ground etctera. They could have these people doing the monitoring and then send up reports to GM's for resolvement.

I'll just put this here.
I never played this game.

At first, it was because my PC hardware just could NOT handle it. After I got a new comp, though, I was sort of looking into it...but the retail price plus sub kind of made me stop in my tracks. After looking online for some reviews and player impressions (more the latter than the former), I decided against it.

Considering, from what I hear, the game was already a mix of paying via retail, sub, cash shop, and advertisements ingame (again, only via hearsay), I think dropping the first two will definitely be a step in the right direction (after addressing the numerous bugs and hacking issues). Wasn't Realtime on the verge of releasing a patch that would fix a bunch of this stuff anyway right before they suddenly got the axe? If so, they should grab some of that and see what they can do with it, it might give them a head start.

Either they've got a really good PR person, or this company actually sounds like they might be doing it -right- (thus far). I, personally, will definitely give this game a shot if it goes F2P. You guys can show me around and stuff. :p

Well a few weeks before they went down, they had implemented the driving changes and weapon changes which changed alot about the game.  It didn't have the cash shop in it, but it will with the new version of the game.  The game still needs improvements such as mission variety, pure skill servers, and for the hackers and exploits to be removed, but if I could do anything in the game, it's just to play with the customization.

Re: APB - The long con - Versus - 12-03-2010

Ah, well that was a wasted update lol At least that'll be there for when the game comes back.

Re: APB - The long con - Maxon - 01-27-2011

I thought about it, but I'll just wait for the release itself unless someone has a spare key to give me lol

I'm confused. If you don't have a key, what other option do you have besides what for release? What's there to think about?
