Re: Hopes for E3? - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 06-02-2009 Yeah. That was what it was. Can't believe I let people get my hopes up over a Mother announcement Re: Hopes for E3? - Sponson - 06-02-2009 Oh god they better announce a ps3 price cut, I'm not gonna be able to buy one of those babies for a looong time. Re: Hopes for E3? - Vongore - 06-02-2009 what? you were dissapointed with Nintendo's? Taking away all the casual stuff i thought it was pretty cool. Metroid Proyect M is going to be a must get Also, new motherfucking Golden Sun, that game is to me what Earthbound is to PIgMask, i love that game. It's a shame it's on 3D, but i don't care Re: Hopes for E3? - CaffeinePowered - 06-02-2009 (06-02-2009, 12:13 PM)cbre88x link Wrote:
Yea I was taken back, but still.
Metroid will be good, I can't think of a bad metroid game, at all Part of me wants new IP and innovation and part of me says, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Metroid's formula makes good games, I could care less if they are all 'similar'. Pro-tip too, Nintendo has always made mostly casual games with a few exceptions, its all the 3rd party stuff that makes Nintendo really worth buying, without the DS we wouldn't have shit like Professor Layton, Ace Attorney, and many other niche games that otherwise would have been "too risky". Just go look at an SNES list, at least half of the really good games wont be Nintendo...... FFVI - 3rd Party FFV - 3rd Party FFIV - 3rd Party Mario RPG - Joint 3rd/1st (mostly 3rd) Earthbound - 2nd Party UN Squadron - 3rd Party Gradius III - 3rd Party Super Metroid - 1st Party Link to the Past - 1st Party Starfox - 1st Party Donkey Kong Country - 2nd Party Mario Kart - 1st Party Mario World - 1st Party Yoshis Island - 1st Party Chrono Trigger - 3rd Party Secret of Mana - 3rd Party Actraiser - 3rd Party Turtles IV: Turtles in Time - 3rd Party Street Fighter - 3rd Party Megaman X - 3rd Party Nintendo - 6 2nd Party (Rare/Ape) - 2 3rd Party (Square/Capcom/Konami, etc) - 12 Im sure I could come up with more, but yea, by and large its other developers. We saw the same thing with the PS2, Sony didn't make shit as far as good games are concerned for it, it was all the pile on developers who made the really good games (and the heaps and heaps of shitty shovelware) Re: Hopes for E3? - cbre88x - 06-02-2009 (06-02-2009, 12:33 PM)Caffeine link Wrote: We saw the same thing with the PS2, Sony didn't make shit as far as good games are concerned for it, it was all the pile on developers who made the really good games (and the heaps and heaps of shitty shovelware) wut??? Ape Escape Shadow of the Colossus ICO Gran Turismo Crash Bandicoot Jak & Daxter God of War MLB: The Show Syphon Filter Twisted Metal SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Wipeout Killzone Those are the good games made by in house devs alone (PS2 games alone)..not counting the third party sony-only devs (ex. Sucker Punch - Sly Cooper). Re: Hopes for E3? - fyre - 06-02-2009 Wish they woulda announced the release date for SMG2. I can't decide whether to buy a Wii this year or not. :-\ Re: Hopes for E3? - CaffeinePowered - 06-02-2009 (06-02-2009, 12:51 PM)cbre88x link Wrote: Ape Escape - 3rd party - Japan Studios, Sony Published 1st - 3 (4?) 2nd - 7 (6?) 3rd - 2 All information available via Wikipedia, Id have to do more digging on the second party games to see if Sony has a 51% stake in those companies making them truely 2nd parties instead of 3rd parties. Re: Hopes for E3? - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 06-02-2009 WTF at the new MGS. 4 Snakes? A spaceship? Kojima so wacky. Also, is it bad that FF7 on PSN today was the most exciting announcement for me >.< Re: Hopes for E3? - cbre88x - 06-02-2009 (06-02-2009, 02:06 PM)Scary Womanizing Pig Mask link Wrote: WTF at the new MGS. 4 Snakes? Re: Hopes for E3? - fyre - 06-02-2009 I want Agent on the PC. Any game featuring spies in the 70's sounds cool to me. Far better then I was expecting when they first pulled it out. Re: Hopes for E3? - fyre - 06-02-2009 This motion control thingy looks pretty good. I just can't get excited about motion control in general though. Maybe ten years from now when it's more precise and better integrated into games... You can't expect them to nail it down first time no scope fox only final destination. They gotta build up their technology tree to unlock it. |
