Pokesav kind of negates the point of the game. Why even bother catching and raising and breeding them when you can just hack your way to Perfect IVs and Full EV sets. Plus it's outside of the game, and I'm a purist for anything competitive.
I like the strategy in putting a team together but what turns me off about the whole thing is IVs being random and hidden, combine that with breeding and you need a spreadsheet and equations to keep track of everything and then you gotta go kill 100 of about 3 or 4 different pokemon each to get the EVs you need. repeat for each member of your team. it just seems like too tedious to me. EVs are not too bad I guess but IVs just annoy me. maybe if they were at least visible in game it might be more fun.

You really don't need to worry about IVs too much. There's calculators for them if you want to get anal, but you can do fine with even a 1, especially among a ragtag group like us Wink There's a lot of quick ways to speed up EV training, and this guide should help you with it (skip to section 7.) Just make sure you've got a decent nature and your set! (although you might need to doEV your pokemon with some berries first.)

I can totally understand not being into all that, but it seems more intimidating then it actually is in practice, so don't get discouraged!

No body here cares about IV's. We're not that hardcore to go catch dittos until we have a ditto that can breed 5 31 IV's, which takes like over a couple million breedings.

Well, then you have every pokemon in the game at 31/31/31/31/31/31. So you win.

Home this weekend but forgot my pokemon cart I had so much shit to carry on the bus.
Postponing the event until school started really killed my ability to play.

Re: The Second Annual BRB'U Pokemon Grand Prix! - Sponson - 09-25-2009

Vongore and I agreed to have our battle settled over shoddy battle, using the same team comp and move set as our original team on the ds.

Mainly due to shitty internet reasons.

The winner is me, 6 pokemon to his none.
