Especially knowing that you supported the developers of great games like these by buying it.

I've read quite a bit on how you can bring over your old character, which is obviously a much appreciated nod to a bygone RPG era, but I haven't read much about my own situation. It's a little more broad than you'd think, because there are many reasons why you might not have access to a file from two fucking years ago. I was shocked to hear his reply: that they had fully accounted for this. When creating a new character, you can go down a list of key decisions and set them manually.

I exhaled, then, a stale and depleted breath which I had apparently been holding for more than a year.

Thank god. Also seems like PC version is greatly superior?

Fuckin A.  I'm particularly curious about [ME1 SPOILERS]

What's going to happen to the Rachni queen that I chose to release.  I'd think that something major would come of that within a few years, and they'd have to pick one branch of the story to have taken.  Either that or just say that someone else came along and genocided the new queen after you left.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Eschatos - 01-26-2010

This game is fucking awesome.  Waaaaaaaay better than the first in almost every way.  Combat, dialog, animations, story, everything.  The only things I'm a bit iffy on are the changes to basic structure of the game, there's pretty much no exploration and not a whole lot of areas to walk around.  The game has definitely moved way closer to shooter than RPG.  Everything has been simplified.  Also the game runs great, even better than the first one on max settings.  I highly recommend buying this.

Also Penny Arcade was wrong about being able to select choices for your character.  Instead use this.  Worked for me, and the only downside is you can't change the name or some of the background, nothing major.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Versus - 01-26-2010

Adrenaline Rush ability for soldiers owns, I maxed it out and I get 70% time dilation now, every three seconds. It's especially awesome with the new semi-automatic sniper rifle I found. Also, I did Advanced Training for 2500 Element Zero and now I'm a soldier with biotics.

edit: also yeah, the game runs better than ME1 did.

Unlocking is taking friggin' forever.

Oh nice! I'm apparently getting paid at my other job this week so I may buy it soon.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Squishy3 - 01-26-2010

I'm so fucking glad I waited to play this. Maybe you'd have the $50 for this if you didn't buy an arcade stick you didn't need, Versus.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Eschatos - 01-26-2010

Wow.  The dialog at the Citadel is simply brilliant, especially the advertisements and the salarian game salesman.  All-elcor hamlet was fucking hilarious.

I have yet to find a single aspect of this game I'm not satisfied with.

Man my blood dragon armor is badass  8)

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Bonesinger - 01-26-2010

Pretty bummed. I don't have the spare cash at the moment to purchase the game and when downloading it I get about 10 kb/s a second with only 1,500 seeders out of 30,000 leachers. At this rate it's slated to be done in one week and four days :-\

Wish I had the option to not buy textbooks for college.

The Elcor Hamlet is a throwback to a line in ME1. I love how they reference so much. Also, I want to see the awesome new human game the Salarian game clerk was playing, "Solitaire".

Maybe I would've spent that on something else four months ago. Tongue
