Jones Soda Cream Soda (the only cream soda using cane sugar in the US, and the only one that tastes right to me too bad Jones is expensive) A&W Root Beer OR true home made (the other ones flavors are too weak for a good root beer.) Soda's I miss Pepsi Blue Jolt! Mtn Dew 1st gen Game Fuels (they changed the recipes last time around and it hasn't matched) Surge Slice Super Mario Bros. Soda dnL (was 7-up's try to compete with mountain dew that was pretty tastey, dnL is 7up upside down) Re: Soda thread (for babies who don't drink beer) - Eschatos - 05-17-2013 I always just buy generic soda from Publix. To me it's indistinguishable quality-wise from name brands. Call me the soda philistine. Re: Soda thread (for babies who don't drink beer) - StolenToast - 05-17-2013 I did not know there was a soda thread! Allow me to parade about my root beer stock, a lot of these have already been posted. Good lord this stuff is delicious. Brewed in California and only one store distributes it on the east coast: World Market. If I want some I have to call ahead and ask if there are any in stock and about ship dates, because they go fast. My opinion, best root beer. It isn't sweet, like most of these, it has a slightly bitter touch which adds some class and, honestly, I have yet to taste something similar. Gotta respect that Sprecher. I pick up a case at the brewery every Christmastime when I'm in Milwaukee. I classify this as a very lively root beer, great for parties. Such a clean, natural taste. It is a great break from regular sodas. This is the Bavarian Nutmeg version, which I have not found, but I enjoy the regular. Fantastic, but almost impossible for me to get. Cheap, local, and a hell of a lot better than IBC. When they say it's made with honey, motherfucker you better believe there is honey ALL OVER. As for poor man's root beers, I do still enjoy 'em. I like Barg but not Mug, I will drink IBC just fine, not a big fan of A&W, but it does make a great float. These are all the root beers I keep on hand, I have had many more. Some notables: Cream Soda: toss up between Sprecher and Virgil's. Sprecher is incredibly strong in the creamy, so if you're not feeling it a nice Virgil's will do. Ginger Ale: Seagram's. Yum. And count me in the Dr. Pepper train. Re: Soda thread (for babies who don't drink beer) - KarthXLR - 05-17-2013 Oogave makes really good cream soda, pick that up if you ever get the chance. Re: Soda thread (for babies who don't drink beer) - FlyingMongoose - 05-20-2013 I'm surprised no one commented on Super Mario Bros. Soda. I guzzled that stuff as a kid. It was like if you were to take the different flavors of freeze pops, melt them, carbonate it, and put them in a can. I loved the stuff. It's seasonal though, so you gotta get it now! Re: Soda thread (for babies who don't drink beer) - MissBiz - 04-22-2014 Rocket Fizz opened a store in downtown Indianapolis not that long ago and opened my eyes to the wide world of amazing sodas. My most favorite Orange Creme soda ever is Dublin's: JUST the right balance of orange flavor to creme flavor... can't be beat. But I'm very sad because Rocket Fizz stopped carrying Dublin's stuff :'( I totally saw the Bavarian Nutmeg version of the Virgil's there this winter, but didn't try it. I should have! Another soda that I like a lot was introduced to me by my friend from Brazil, Guaraná Antarctica. It's lighter and has an interesting, fruity taste. I buy 2 liters of it from the international grocery store.
