Actually from what I read, on the WiiU with 8 player smash, ice climbers broke it Sad

New balance patch is out, seems to change a bunch of little things.

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - KarthXLR - 11-21-2014

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - allondra - 11-22-2014

Finally got to play!!!!!!!! And with a Samus amiibo  Yay!

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - Evil Cheese - 11-22-2014

Did anybody actually get to buy one of the GC controller adapters? My local Gamestop said they sold out of those pretty quickly. Also, I agree the Samus amiibo looked pretty sweet.

The place I went to said they sold out within an hour of the midnight release. Playing with the gamepad isn't bad. Foodies ordered an off-brand adapter, I do not recommend this as it's only one controller port, it plugs into a Wiimote, and has noticeable delays over other methods. I might pick up a pro controller to see what that's like...

Also, Caff and I played a little bit online this morning. The wi-fi is definitely better than on 3DS, but there's still just enough of a delay to throw your spacing off. also in-game VOIP is comically low quality; if we get a community night going then you'll want to have mumble installed in a phone or laptop.

You were having issues with the 3DS online too, right? Maybe you ought to get one of the USB-to-Ethernet adapters for a more stable connection. I've been playing Smash Wii U for a while and I'd say 95% of my matches are seemingly lagless. And I do mean it's unnoticeable, not like the 3DS version.

Connected it, don't perceive a significant difference. Don't get me wrong, I would regard it playable at this point. But I still find I have an easier time with sluggers then precise characters, and I credit that to the network.

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - Squishy3 - 11-22-2014

i have experienced more smoother connections in smash 3ds than wii u at this point

mostly because when i found a good connection in smash 3ds the game doesn't turn to shit after 3 or 4 matches, while on wii u it starts lagging on and off during the second match with someone

I have a Wii classic controller pro that I'm using currently. It works well enough for the time being (although it did take some getting used to), but I only have one and if I play with others locally I'd like to have my GC controllers available.

Re: - Eightball - 11-22-2014

Gonna bring a Wii u to acen 2015, bring your controllers...

Honestly I like these the best, grew up on the snes, played brawl with it, and it works better than the game cube ones for me.

I think this is the route I'm going to go. I'll probably pick up some more classic controllers after my wallet recovers a bit.

Also you can install mumble on your phone?  This changes everything!

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - The Generic Name - 12-03-2014

Cool.

Re: SUPER SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEERRRRRRS - Eightball - 12-29-2014

I am announcing a prize to anyone who can defeat Foodies in a set of 5 (Wii U or 3DS; no items; neutral & counterpick stages). Probably a CSGO skin or a steam game. I'm being serious.

EDIT: Her 3DS's circle pad is having trouble, make that Wii U only.

Maybe next week we could try an inhouse night or something on mumble?
