You guys will not know what happened once a big flappy titty has hit you...

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - Surf314 - 04-28-2009

Here is what we worked out.  #1 will be locked at the discretion of the admin for small team scrims and goofing off.  This will most likely be decided by a vote.  Password will be littlecart as usual, so if you get there late and it is locked use that.  It is very important that if you want to practice small team scrimage you show up on time (4 EST) as locks must come off no later than 5 EST for general play.

Everyone who knows the password is welcome during the time it is locked.

Important: If we do lock the server please don't leave after the lock comes off until the server fills up, this is the compromise to let us lock the server for this as needed.

So, 4 EST. Should be there.

I can also help get these running, I'm always home at around 3:30 EST.

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - Chooly - 04-29-2009

Okay, just to update everyone the new format that the Hosts of STDS are going to run will hopefully avoid dissapointment over scrims not being voted in like the last 2 days.

3:00 : The server is going to be locked, no votes, just locked down in anticipation of the scrims. Invites are going to be spammed out, and then the server will begin to seed for the scrims.

After a map vote, assigning captains etc the pickup starts and will last either a few rounds, a few maps, basically until it gets old. We'll vote to either keep on or open the server, when at that point another map vote to one of the popular maps (dustbowl, gravelpit, mach 4, turbine etc.) Is a regular play map to fill the server up.
So if you come out today stick around for a while after the scrims, help out the server and we'll hopefully be sitting pretty with a full server for the day.

Confirming with BNGD and BFT, Match starts at 7 EST on server #1 (#3 isn't set up yet) and will be best out of 3 matches or highest scoring after 1 hour.

Teams must confirm time and agree on a map before Friday, MGR be ready in case a team can't make it.

You can discuss maps here.  I'm assuming Zaneyard and Jokerrrr are captains, so I will except the first map they agree on unless they designate someone else.

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - Radio Raheem - 04-29-2009

best maps competitively are granary, badlands, gpit. cp_well, cp_yukon, cp_follower, turbine, labor, freight, broma are all semi passable but kinda lame. one of the big three would be much prefered

7est is cool

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - Surf314 - 04-29-2009

Something to think about, with smaller teams some CP maps don't work well because it is to easy to kill off the entire team at once giving the successful team too long unchallenged at the points.

Also Mach 4 works amazing for small teams.

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - JoKeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - 04-29-2009

lol im team captain

badlands4lyf

granary works too

gpit would not be fun

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - zaneyard - 04-29-2009

as far as maps, I don't really care but would prefer something stock
time should be fine, ill be there by 5:30 est if needed
just gotta make sure that i can find 3 more guys

Oh well, scrims would be fun, but 4 EST is still workin' hours.

It's why were doing it. It's to fill up the servers during 'dead' hours.

As meh as intel maps are, if we're low-manning these scrims I guess I can agree with Mach 4, seeing as how most of the 5 point CP maps will just be either a hilarious roll or backcap fortress 2. Also I can lower the size of the text a bit I suppose.

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - Radio Raheem - 04-29-2009

i dunno if theyre 5v5s push maps are basically the same thing as 6s. anything smaller than that then yeah mach4 or turbine might be a good idea. engie fun for all

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - zaneyard - 04-29-2009

at max we're gonna have 4 so...

Re: The Daily Grind AKA Small Team Daily Scrims - copulatingduck - 04-29-2009

what do you expect with 4 players? You cant play a normal 5-cp map because backcapping is just stupidly easy. Would have to be a map thats stupidly small (like Labor)

Turtling 4 mans is like saying I want to lose.  You have to have massive team work to successfully stop an uber rush.  Not to mention not actually capping anything.

And the class limits will be 1 per unless both teams agree to different rules.
