While I don't care either way, I would find it fucking hilarious if Valve did take away all of the items of people who did idle, sort of like how the people who used the console commands to unlock all of the achievements day one got not just the medic pack reset, but everything.

I would too, because I'd still have 3 hats. I'd lose Scout and Spy hats, but that's a small price to pay for the, at least, 3 people who will message me going HAHAHA U LOST UR HATS FAGGOT to have their unwarranted sense of self importance shoved down their throats.
Though I will lose a lot of my unlocked weapons 'cause I kept the higher level ones, but every unlocked weapon is shit anyway except Medic which I don't play anyway.
Huntsman is for little shits who can't aim, while I'm completely trashing everyone I can here.

My stance is that I pretty much don't give a shit if anything (including hats) get's taken away due to idling, but that I'm kind of sick of waiting to get a hat while playing regularly and not getting anything. I still feel valve should implement some sort of "other" system to get hats.
As much "BAWWWW"ing as people are going to do, their going to do it no matter what the system for getting them is. So to me it would make more sense to just say "Fuck it" to the haters, and have your points at the end of every map go into a sort of carnival style "ticket" system. Then when you save up enough tickets to buy a particular hat you can. Hat prices would be high for every class but also determined by demand (which hat do people want most?).
