Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - Scary Womanizing Pig Mask - 08-25-2008 I just use a M$oft wireless mouse. It works pretty well apart from the signal occasionally going wonky and screwing me up Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - exanimo - 09-28-2008 My mouse/sensitivity settings; -Logitech MX518 (simple, comfortable, relatively cheap) -6th notch windows mouse speed setting -Slowest mouse DPI setting (400dpi) -In game sensitivity is 2.5 -Cheap worn out fabric mousepad (with golden retriever puppies on it) Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - K2 - 09-28-2008 (09-28-2008, 12:10 PM)exanimo link Wrote: My mouse/sensitivity settings; Heh, I have the same mouse, but my worn out fabric mousepad has kittens on it. Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - exanimo - 09-28-2008 Hehe! It must take fooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeeever to turn around. Also, cute mousepad. Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - exanimo - 09-30-2008 Just takes a couple lifts on the mouse to flip around. Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - Budr - 10-01-2008 I can't tell if Ex is joking :'( Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - ToiletDuck - 10-01-2008 nice cokepad Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - exanimo - 10-01-2008 Hey thanks! I'm not Budr, is it really that surprising? I know plenty who play with sensitivities this low. I play with a sensitivity of 2.1 on counter-strike 1.6. A lot of pro CS players say they play with 1.2s. You probably have to move your hand a foot to turn 360° Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - Dave - 10-01-2008 (10-01-2008, 09:56 AM)exanimo link Wrote: A lot of twelve year olds who say they are pro CS players say they play with 1.2s. fix <3 Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - exanimo - 10-01-2008 Lol Dave. I dunno, I have always liked a slow mouse. It helps me stay locked on an enemy when I'm running like around like crazy with the scout, or just enough sensitivity to whip the cross hair over a head while sniping. And I think it is just about a foot of movement before I get a full 360. But like I said I always quickly lift up several times to get that quick change. Also I feel I do a lot more work with the "wasd" keys to make up for my slow mouse movement. Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - Surf314 - 10-01-2008 (10-01-2008, 11:07 AM)exanimo link Wrote: Lol Dave. I wish there was a script to auto change sensitivity when you scope in. Quick Sidewinder Review - bjlsurfer - 11-11-2008 I grabbed an open box M$ Sidewinder mouse for teh cheaps, so here's a quick opinion on it: DESIGN: Looks like a Batmobile- it's cool looking but subtle enough that it doesn't scream GAM3R!!!! It's worth noting there is subtle red lighting at the bottom end of it that you can't really see in most pictures. I like the thumb buttons- easy to hit but not too easy. LCD display is pretty pointless but looks cool. Lighted sensitivity buttons are useful. Scroll wheel is robust, easy to use as a button. The weight system isn't as elaborate or customizable as the Logitech system, but it's fine for me. COMFORT: Biggest surprise. It's much more comfy than it looks. Only gripe is that they use that smooth "soft touch" style material on the sides- I wish they used it on the whole thing. Definitely designed for people who like to "palm" the mouse- there's a lot of mouse to love. My non-gaming sister (whose hands are decently small) is fine with it though. PERFORMANCE: Nice, smooth 2000 dpi performance. The changeable feet do have subtle differences in friction, but nothing major. I use the white teflon ones- the most slick. Software is good- you can set the buttons to perform different tasks in different programs (ie multimedia controls in Zune), though I haven't found a use for the in-game macro record thing. I've never used a G5 so I can't compare how it feels to that, but basically the differences I see are: different (not necessarily better or worse) ergonomics, no tilt wheel on the Sidewinder, less elaborate weight system on the Sidewinder, better DPI switching system on the Sidewinder, switchable feet on the Sidewinder. Overall, from what I've read I wouldn't say it's better than the G5, just different. I say if you can scoop one for cheap and you need a mouse, go for it. However, I think they're phasing them out in favor of the new versions now... I have one and I really like it. You get over the paint job fast enough, to be honest. It's otherwise the best mouse I've ever had. Re: Lab Rats (Mice) - Wedge - 02-10-2009 Yeah I'm not huge on the crackled blue thing, but it's a fucking great mouse. I love having the weights, mine is as heavy as I can make it. |
