Re: Star Trek - sarcasticsteve - 05-13-2009 The reason why young Kirk was so much of a douche would have been more apparent if they'd fleshed out his childhood a bit more. Apparently there were originally plans for his Uncle Frank (guy who owned the car Kirk totaled) to be the 'father figure' who was a bit abusive and a bit of a drinker. Re: Star Trek - fyre - 05-14-2009 The thing that I only realized a while after I watched it is that New Kirk is obviously going to be quite different since in this timeline he grew up without his father. Re: Star Trek - Fail Medic - 05-16-2009 Probably everyone knew this but me, but Youtube + CBS is hosting what looks like the whole original series for commercial-free viewing. Case in point: The Doomsday Machine Re: Star Trek - at0m - 05-16-2009 (05-16-2009, 01:12 AM)Fail Medic link Wrote: Probably everyone knew this but me, but Youtube + CBS is hosting what looks like the whole original series for commercial-free viewing. There are commercials, thats what the little yellow lines on the bottom stand for. However, this is pretty badass. Re: Star Trek - Surf314 - 05-16-2009 The new kirk is the only one I didn't like better than the old. Re: Star Trek - Kilgannon - 05-17-2009 I saw this the night it came out. I enjoyed it greatly. Mostly stuff related to the "future star explosion" and the final battle, not to mention the Romulans having tons of guards posted in the cargo bay of their ship but not a single one near the ship that contains the only source of red matter. They didn't get teleported into the cargo bay, that was the joke. Re: Star Trek - KarthXLR - 05-24-2009 Saw it again with my sister tonight. Just as good as it was the last time.
