Winnipeg Re: question for _________ - matter11 - 08-21-2013 If you could spend a few months learning a country's style of cooking with a traditional chef, which country would you choose? I think I would choose either Thai or Indian (I realize it's a huge country with different styles). I like curry and da spices. Re: question for _________ - kaese - 08-21-2013 Japan. Dido Re: question for _________ - FlyingMongoose - 08-21-2013 ...I'm fine with just exploring cooking things in my own kitchen, figuring out new recipes on my own and making mixes of any flavors I can think of... did you know italian dressing taste's pretty good on hash browns with a little soy sauce? Re: question for _________ - at0m - 08-21-2013 I'd probably go with Indian, especially if I could learn both Northern and Southern Indian styles. Thai is fun but my GF is a chef who studied abroad there so I've got that one in the bag Re: question for _________ - exanimo2 - 08-21-2013 (08-21-2013, 08:04 PM)FlyingMongoose link Wrote: ...I'm fine with just exploring cooking things in my own kitchen, figuring out new recipes on my own and making mixes of any flavors I can think of... did you know italian dressing taste's pretty good on hash browns with a little soy sauce? Unless you live with a chef and your kitchen appliances includes a shared dumpster of a diner, a Chinese restaurant, and an Italian restaurant, I think you totally missed the point of this question. Re: question for _________ - loldollas - 08-21-2013 Thai or Japanese. Cause shit is delicious. Yes I am biased. Re: question for _________ - Hobospartan - 08-23-2013 And evidently you uneducated, unwashed, Irish heathens don't know the difference between Eastern and Western BBQ. I'll learn y'all, though, since I'm so nice. Western, or Lexington, just uses the shoulder, and actually has tomatoes as well as vinegar and pepper and all the other spices and what not. Eastern uses any and every part of the pig, only has vinegar and pepper based sauce, and is not fit for human consumption. You do realize that things like tone and intonation don't come through with words on a screen? If you didn't mean it as a dig..I'll leave it there, but be more aware of what you say and how you say it. Lexington? Kentucky can't claim BBQ. No way. They already get KFC and Bourbon. Re: question for _________ - A.
