Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - at0m - 04-17-2013 I had to work late last night, and my brother didn't call me for my bday yesterday. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Versus - 04-17-2013 i would really really hate living in the middle of nowhere, medium-large city at least Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Dtrain323i - 04-17-2013 (04-17-2013, 12:39 PM)at0m link Wrote:

Come visit, I actually think you'd like the area where I live. 5-10 minute drive in three cardinal directions puts you in the woods. 20 minutes south puts you downtown. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Dr. Zaius - 04-17-2013 To be fair, I absolutely loved living in Chicago. It's got everything you need assuming you can find a job. I wasn't able to, though. I guess it's more of a 'hindsight is 20/20' scenario. I didn't mind the Chicago suburbs either, growing up. But now, and here? I fucking hate North Dakota, Minot, and all the people that I'm forced to share this desolate tundra with. Call me crazy. Also, Tau own hard. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - CaffeinePowered - 04-18-2013 Ankle deep water in my apartment, still rising The Good - My uber-box and all of its data are safe - Laptop is safe - Vast majority of my sewing stuff is in bins - con stuff was packed and on my landing at ground level - Clothing is pretty high too - As are most of my other electronics - I have Renter's Insurance that covers up to $25,000 in damages to my personal property in the apartment, claim has already been started. - 420 moved and well hidden The Bad - RIP Genesis - RIP NES - RIP All those power cables and cords - Whole place will need to be cleaned and scrubbed down - Couches fucked - Major appliances likely ruined, this is on the landlord to fix/replace though - RIP SNES Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - [fr31ns]Karrde - 04-18-2013 Holy shit, flooding O_o Re: Re: Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Dtrain323i - 04-18-2013 (04-18-2013, 08:43 AM)Caffeine link Wrote: Ankle deep water in my apartment, still rising Being underground has its disadvantages. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - A. Crow - 04-18-2013 is this just from heavy rains? Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Dr. Zaius - 04-18-2013 god no not the genesis :-X flooding apparently even in my old town, so i'm guessing it's most of illinois/midwest that's getting pissed on hard. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - Didzo - 04-18-2013 What's rain? Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - CaffeinePowered - 04-18-2013 (04-18-2013, 12:59 PM)LT Crow link Wrote: is this just from heavy rains? That plus subpump failure Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - A. Crow - 04-18-2013 who's sump pump? Because you should be threatening them with litigation before making a claim against your own insurance. Re: The "Fuck my life" thread - at0m - 04-18-2013 (04-18-2013, 02:32 PM)LT Crow link Wrote: who's sump pump?  Because you should be threatening them with litigation before making a claim against your own insurance. Âmost of the time those fail due to lack of maintenance (not covered by warranty) or power failure (not covered by warranty). A crack developed in my childhood home's foundation last week, so there's ankle deep water in my mom's house right now too. This is the backyard. Either way I have renter's insurance that is basiacally a catch-all for shit damaged in an apartment due to theft/fire/floor/whatever. $500 Deductible, up to $25,000 in claims. Likely with having to replace my bedframe, box springs, couches, it will come out to a few thousand in damages I can claim. |
