Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - StolenToast - 01-10-2014 Raidano! Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - loldollas - 01-10-2014 My 3 page short got chosen to be made and produced in the middle of this term! Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Gasman - 01-10-2014 Internet's not borked anymore! You all might see me more often on games now. Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - CaffeinePowered - 01-11-2014 Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Kor - 01-12-2014 Caff - uping his game, as well as, the number of colours he can sew his hands together with. Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - A. Crow - 01-12-2014 There's a multithreading joke somewhere in there with that serger, but I'm tired and a bit hungover so meh. Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Eightball - 01-13-2014 Posts here regarding grades don't really seem all that meaningful, but: First semester grades were finally posted, and I somehow scored honors (92% or higher) in all of my classes--something that the staff and upperclassmen stated almost never happens ("Cs make degrees", "P=MD"). Achieving this despite the new stressors in my life outside of academics is pretty affirming for me. Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - kaese - 01-13-2014 u go 8ball! u go! (know what specialty you want to go into yet?) Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Eightball - 01-13-2014 (01-13-2014, 05:10 PM)Käse link Wrote: u go 8ball! u go!
Opthalmology, so you can fix my eyes once and for all. Seriously, though, congratulations. Hard work always pays off in the end.
The D-ology
that's urology. Neurology and pathology would be interesting. Diseases are pretty neat. Surprised to see ophthalmology on that list - if your procedural skills are tight enough for eye surgery usually you have the chops to also pursue other surgical specialties. It's definitely the most challenging of the ones I'm seriously considering. I generally have not been considering surgical specialties for various reasons (personality mismatch, length of training, overall affect), but Optho gets a nod since my research has generally been in that field. I'll be shadowing a Pulmonologist starting Thursday for a course though. I'll have some more to think about once I've made a few rounds on the NICU... It's weird in that the procedural specialties all have their personality quirks at an aggregate level, but at the leadership level are indistinguishable. Those that are passionate about advocating for and teaching about surgery are not much different from those that advocate for and teach about primary care. Defining factor is those who consider healing as an academic pursuit, versus those who consider it as a trade. Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Goffin - 01-14-2014 Be a patch adams Eightball. We surely need more of them.  Grats on your success with your grades! Re: Re: Re: This Made My Day/Improved My Day Thread! - Dtrain323i - 01-14-2014 (01-13-2014, 09:11 PM)CPT Crow link Wrote: There's going to be a horrible shortage of primary care docs in the near future.  Do the right thing, treat the masses* Fuck that.
