My wife and I have the attitude that while were not necessarily trying to have kids, if it happens its no big deal. so i pull out but if its right after her period then i'll let it fly since the chances of her getting pregnant is pretty low.

The gynocologist is hedging her bets.  She doesn't know you or your fiancee very well (she obviously know SOME parts very well, but I digress).  She can't say for certain that finacee will take it everyday.  You, obviously, know better.  You're intelligent people and, in that case, it'll work much more than 80% of the time.  That 20-25% is for people who aren't as...diligent? Responsible?  It's a fudge factor for when human error overcomes science.

Exactly.

The biggest problem with the pill is not taking it correctly, followed by not knowing what can reduce the effectiveness of it.

Antibiotics, diarrhoea, vomiting (especially close to the time the pill was taken), weight fluctuations, etc.

One the way to the gym today, some older lady had gotten her car stuck in the snow and two other people who had been walking by were trying to help push her out from the front, but couldn't get enough force to push it past the snow and onto clear pavement. Pitched in and we managed to push it back onto the street.

A grateful customer sent our department a package of bagels, cream cheese and salmon from Zabar's in NYC.  No one else in the department likes bagels and lox apparently. I feel like a bear with the constant fish for breakfast.
