Is heist any good? all for cross overs, who know maybe the midnight rider bus will zoom again XD
Heist is decent. Obviously borrowed a lot from L4D2, but with more gimmicks and style, but it feels rough around the edges. I am interested in the product of this crossover though.

Now it has me thinking maybe it'd be how the virus gets unleashed, like a botched Heist at a lab or something.

I'd pay a many hat for that. Pretty interesting that Valve's allowing movies on steam. Granted, it's extremely relevant, but there's games, game soundtracks, game magazines, and now game movies.

It's a very good doc. Unfortunately, the Braid developer still comes off as a little bit of a prick.
A prick you end up feeling bad for...

I really like that STEAM has become an enormous engine for indie game distribution, instead of being all valve all day erry day. The fact that it's going to distribute a movie now is very...odd. But considering the content, appropriate.

Back when HL2:Ep1 came out they were experimenting briefly with video content. Does anybody remember Zombie Movie?

Now, I think Valve finally putting a film on sale (that releases shortly after E3) is a perfect way to usher in Steam's Big Picture Mode.

Re: Insert PC Game News Here - Didzo - 05-31-2012

New Humble Bundle has some nice stuff in it. As if you all don't own all those games anyway.

Steam has been used to distribute movies from very early on. This is just the first time they are using it to distribute movies for pay.

oh what's this over here I think it's OMG INTERNET PETITIONS WORK AND ITS ON STEAM!

Re: Insert PC Game News Here - zaneyard - 06-02-2012

except it's still on gfwl

Re: Insert PC Game News Here - backfire - 06-02-2012

Given they had a few months to push this port over and the team has very little PC experience, this is one of the few times I'm okay with it. I'm not expecting a great port, but as long as it's somewhat optimized and works, then I'm fine with it. As long as enough people purchase this to show the team that the PC market is something worth investing in, then most likely they'll build their next game in the PC in mind from the get go.

Re: Insert PC Game News Here - zaneyard - 06-03-2012

yeah there's a very good chance that I'm going to look at purchasing it, depending on the timing. However, GFWL turned out to be absolutely crippling for us playing GTAIV multiplayer

well, you can play dark souls completely without multiplayer if you want, and considering dark souls is only their second PC game, I don't blame them for going with something that's essentially XBL on PC

it's not like there are a lot of other amazing networks to use on PC other than steam, and considering most games that use steamworks for multiplayer mostly utilize dedicated servers, rather than P2P

i've never had any crippling experiences with the GFWL games I've played so whatever, I'll probably buy it

Re: Insert PC Game News Here - backfire - 06-04-2012

It's more of a matter that porting XBL code to GfWL is extremely simple with tools Microsoft provides. They didn't have the time nor really the experience to change out all of their netcode from XBL to Steamworks, so as long as the port itself is decently optimized, I'd hate to see someone avoid it because something they didn't have much control over.

Oh I know the reasons, it's just simply a matter if I want to spend the money on a game that looks like it was designed for another operating system. It's like buying a iOS app on android.
