Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - Mission Difficult - 03-09-2010 I find the fact that you can't switch teams more than once per half hour or whatever pretty annoying, especially if someone says balance and four people switch so it's out of whack again. The only problem I had with the SO HARD (so gay) guys is that they refused to be on separate teams. Like I said I don't mind skill being unbalanced but when the numbers are very disproportionate for a long period of time it really makes the whole game go downhill. I've seen pretty rapid rolls on teams that had good players but were outmatched. What's worse is several times I've seen players switch from a small team to the large one because they were so frustrated. YUS Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - copulatingduck - 03-09-2010 saying "counter them by being less bad" is all well and good if not incredibly naive for the following reasons:
now even ignoring all that, it's not so bad. I can even forgive the random spawn camping with C4 and tanks, because everybody feels a little evil once in a while. but with the huge player imbalance as a result of people leaving, refusal to play on separate teams (or even in separate squads), and giving responses to requests for team balance along the lines of "lol quit crying," the kick was definitely warranted simply on "don't be a dick" grounds. the guys weren't just good at the game, they knew exactly what they were doing and they didn't really give a crap that it was killing a server. at that point, any expected value you might have derived from their potential conversion to a forum-going member of the community plummets, so what's the fucking point of letting them run a decent set of games into the ground on account of principle? Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - copulatingduck - 03-09-2010 all that said, i agree with what mission said (though for me I swear it would not allow me to change teams at least 3 maps in a row). cooldown on teamswitching is fucking retarded and just needs to be straight up removed. idk if there's a setting anywhere in the configs, but if someone can dig it out that would be an [u]IMMENSE help with the balance problem in general Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - Surf314 - 03-09-2010 (03-09-2010, 12:10 PM)Duck link Wrote: all that said, i agree with what mission said (though for me I swear it would not allow me to change teams at least 3 maps in a row). cooldown on teamswitching is fucking retarded and just needs to be straight up removed. idk if there's a setting anywhere in the configs, but if someone can dig it out that would be an [u]IMMENSE help with the balance problem in general It's not one of the options I saw. Server tweaking is pretty damned limited, but I think that is going to change because of the amount of bitching going on. Either that or the game will mostly die in 2-3 months. I wish this game was released by Valve Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - copulatingduck - 03-09-2010 tbf, it's breaking about as frequently now as tf2 does every update Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - Turtle - 03-09-2010 (03-09-2010, 12:12 PM)Surf314 link Wrote: I wish this game was released by ValveÂThey may be evil but they know how to make a good game Re: Battlefield Wednesday 3/3 - Tricks - 03-09-2010 lol thread goes from "best game of all time" to "I miss TF2" in like a page.
