I'm about a 1/3 into Trigun, then have Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Alchemist lined up after in that order
good list.

Looks like someone is relying on Adult Swim for their anime.  Not that its a bad thing to do so.  All those anime are badass anyways.

Especially Tri-Gun.

Trigun was awesome way before Adult Swim was playing it, as was Cowboy Bebop.

Because my friend is a huge anime fan, he's convinced me to pirate a couple episodes of Gurren Lagann. Squishy, I finally realize what your avatar is from.

But I don't know about the chick.

Blood+ is pretty good.  That's what I am watching now.  You gotta make it past the really stupid looking phantom villain though.

I posted this before he changed his avatar. It was from an episode of Gurren Lagann.

Never said it wasn't but 3 of the 4 anime he mentioned were all on adult swim.  Was just pointing that out.

Thanks for suggesting this crow, i'm a little half way through it.  It's pretty awesome, although it is pretty much filled with the anime plot points i find trite (i.e. indomitable spirit to achieve impossiable obsticales, not "realizing" you're in love with the person you hate),  though the rest of the writing is good enough that i don't really care.

Also, i'm assuming that since no one backed me on serial experiments lain it means that no one has seen it... so see it.  seriously.

Does it start off slow?  Cuz I kinda quit 3 eps in.

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - A. Crow - 04-21-2009

Yeah, it gets better.  Ofcourse, I was just damn overjoyed they got the science (mostly) right.

On Lain, Ianki, I've only seen bits and pieces here and there without any pressing interest. But since you so highly recommend it, and I know you have sophisticated tastes (walking tacos), I shall endeavor to see all of it.

Best anime ever and by far trumps NGE, I don't fucking care what anybody says, this shit is 100x cooler than NGE and FLCL and I at least get an ending with closure that doesn't require me to search on the internet for the true meaning of it.

It's all slow, but it's about philosophy, the decent of man, the desaturation of personality in an electronic world, and the emergence of knowledge.  Of course, it could also be a long and boring metaphor for puberty as well, but then it wouldn't be worth watching, so it isn't.

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - Wedge - 04-21-2009

I loved Planetes, up until Hachimaki started getting all emo and weird with the tests for the new space ship.  I sorta stopped watching around then, though I have great looking HD rips sitting around here still.

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - A. Crow - 04-21-2009

You should finish the series.  I guess if you've never wanted something bad enough (or thought you did) to say "fuck everything else" that part of the series is just emotastic.

NGE had no ending, they changed directors on the last few eps and got some bullshit excuse for philosophy that the 14 year old weeaboos demanded eveyone accept as SRSDEEPYO.

TTGL was just straight up, old school Saturday morning cartoon style fun with a little bit more than our censors would allow (death) and that's what made it so awesome.

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - at0m - 04-22-2009

Oh! Another series to watch: Read or Die! Also, Air Master is pretty funny, I liked the big-boobed chick who had a crush on the main character (who was also a chick 0_0).

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - KarthXLR - 04-22-2009

Just watched the "Compilation Episode" of Gurren Lagann. I can only imagine how crushed people were to wait around for a stupid "SO GUYS HERE'S THE TIMELINE, INCASE YOU MISSED IT"

Re: Anime Thread: Continuation - KarthXLR - 04-24-2009

Just finished up the last episode of Gurren Lagann.

Holy crap, that was like Dragon Ball Z on steroids, covered in gasoline, and riding a train made out of guns and flames.

So yeah, I liked it. :3
