Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Versus - 08-17-2008 You can make T-junctions too Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Tragic Hero - 08-18-2008 Question: Why do we have so many coal power plants? Would we save money by destroying a couple of them and making an Oil plant? Maybe? I didn't really think much about it. I was tempted to make some wind power stations next to the airstrip instead of running power lines to it, but didn't. Something that I also did that I should mention is that I passed a lot of ordnances. Lots of things like a cpr program, smoke alarm installation. Lots of the cheap ones that likely just have a tiny effect. I didn't declare the city nuclear free though, so that's still a power alternative. Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Tragic Hero - 08-18-2008 Wind power is weak anyways. Only good if you are rich to afford a lot or have a small farm town. Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Versus - 08-18-2008 Coal is the cheapest and the most polluting. Look at the power generation capacity of the plants. That's why I think we should destroy some of those and pay extra for cleaner, more powerful oil plants Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Versus - 08-18-2008 Oil is more powerful? Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Eschatos - 08-18-2008 Someone besides me has to deface the environment. Please. Make disasters, create phallic objects, do something. Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - bjlsurfer - 08-18-2008 I'll put in some type of cleaner, more efficient power if I've got the funds. Water treatment is expensive, I just got rid of the towers in the industrial zone to solve the problem short term- we had about 70% more water capacity than we needed anyway. Eventually with more funds more treatment plants would be good. Right now my focus is decreasing traffic problems and getting rid of dirty industry. I'll be done with my 5 years in the next day or two; I've been busy and school is starting back... Hey, it's fun to make the city run well... Don't worry too hard about "Cleaning" up the city. Environment to me is always the last thing to worry about, especially this early in the game. Just earn some money and if you can afford it I would say spend money on civics like Parks, Stadiums, museums and such. But its your turn, go ahead and do what you want. Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - bjlsurfer - 08-20-2008 Just uploaded the file to duck's space. And now, may I present... the city: Not massive growth, but it's stretched a little. Consolidated all the water needs to just a few large pumps. Expanded the subway system by a couple stops, and added a few bus stops too. Everything is running pretty smoothly, and the budget is at around 4-5k surplus every month. Left the coal plants as they are, nobody lives down there yet so pollution isn't really an issue- I would save up for the nuclear plant I unlocked if you're concerned about environmental/efficiency stuff. Now, fun stuff. I built a country club at the base of Mount Jorgenplax, and a university nearby too, which I christened BRB!University. Off to the west a little is a movie studio and a minor league soccer stadium. You can see my upscale condo in this shot too- right next to the big commercial district (where I added a stock exchange btw- it's doing quite well, could use some expansion when demand for offices goes up again.) And here's some of the other major additions. The Bonerton was lonely, so I added the Isles of Testes, and a public beach nearby for the citizens to bathe and enjoy the beautiful view. Also nearby is a new industrial park (I built it away from the pollution of the dirty industry so high tech industry would come- it's over 50% high tech, plenty of trees, and no real air pollution to speak of) and an advanced research center called The bjlsurfer Center for Uberscientific Shit. So yeah, that's pretty much it. Krissy, I give the key to the city to you. Things to work on- grow the manufacturing & high tech industry, keep up with health, safety, and education, improve the transportation, and save up some dough for the Major League Stadium and Nuclear power plants that I unlocked- both of those are pretty sweet. If you wanna go nuts, build a bridge and get some agriculture or suburbs going on the other side of the river. No pressure though, play the city how you want to, have fun with it. Can't wait for my next turn! Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Eschatos - 08-20-2008 I don't see very many signs for people. Don't forget to put one down where your character lives. Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Tragic Hero - 08-20-2008 Wow I had no idea that our city was doing so awesome that bj could afford all those neat upgrades. Good stuff... Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Versus - 08-20-2008 Nice job Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - ScottyGrayskull - 08-20-2008 Very awesome. Glad to see our city finally grew a pair too. ^_^ Re: Official BRB Uninstalling City Post - Tragic Hero - 08-22-2008 So yeah...any word on krissy if she knows that it is her turn?
