Dark Souls PC is no longer locked in a sub-720p ghetto. Durante on Neogaf got the game to render at HD resolutions in 23 minutes.

Edit: People are also working on the 30fps cap, but if removed it looks like the game plays at super speed like some old DOS game.

Here's a one hour sample of the new XCOM.  I was feeling pretty ambivalent about this but now I'm getting pretty excited.  Sure it's not the same as the original but it still looks pretty damn good.
