I've been trying a snowball Garen build, it can work really well. Warmogs, FAN, Swift Boots, Atmas, then Leviathon and Sword of the Occult at some point depending on how you are doing early game. Essentially you get over 4k health without stacks and with your W and runes + Atmas you are really hard to kill. Once you can max leviathon you become impossible to kill and with Atmas and Sword you are a big threat.
The only problem with the build is you need a decent team for it to work as intended (or at least a good laning partner).
