Weird Al does make original music in addition to paying royalties, even though he's protected under fair use.

I'd like to see the statistics on how well Weird Al has fared compared to the acts he has covered. Though he might not have any "billboard" style hits, he probably has more album sales and certainly more longevity than most if not all of what he goofs on.
And that's not even counting UHF.

I'm surprised his voice holds up as well as it does, it was a 2 hour concert with only a couple 2 minute breaks and one 5 minute one before the encore, and his voice didn't crack at all. Also it's stupid apparently to even get an autograph from him or say hi to him you have to be part of the weird al yankovic fan club which is a crock of shit. (apparently they consider themselves elite) it's also funny because they're basically bouncers except they're nerds. you could actually see his bodyguards behind them which was funny.
