Range. The Tesla sucks on the elevator level, but the pistols rape because it only takes 2 hits to kill drones on Normal.

who plays normal though? besides, Tesla is better for crowd control (stuns enemies and has AOE), which is generally the only time that people die (well that and idiots getting infected). Pistol's not that bad, it's just not that great imo

Tesla does rape against the little infestor things because of the autoaim/arc thing it does. I dunno, I like not using the gun everyone thinks rapes, because the game is boring if everyone uses the same shite.

Also, I play normal because I'm trying to level and I have to keep pubbing ;x

Tried pubbing today, the medic and tech knew each other so they ran off and died on their own, every level.

Flamethrower makes quick work of eggs and the headcrabs.

Medic should ALWAYS apply shock armor before an infested area as a precaution though.

once you get level 27 and unlock nade launcher, you can promote (they dont say what you get and everything goes back to locked...)

I don't know if this has been said, but download the SDK, open Alien Swarm, go into console, type in sv_cheats 1, then type in ASW_tilegen. Yeah. Also, type in asw_horde and play with all of the settings that start with that to create giant hordes of aliens and shit.

It's easy to defend yourself against parasites if you've got the tesla, too. Is flamethrower specialist only?
