Re: Battlefield 3 - Maxon - 08-19-2011

Having used Battlelog, getting in and out of games is really quick.  It's not that big of a deal from what I've seen, basically like playing a browser game.  Probably could've given the option, but then that would've basically made Battlelog kinda pointless if your only using it once.

Yeah fuck that.  Battlelog is alot better than that nonsense.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Spore - 08-19-2011

So, can we add BF3 to our Steam list and log into Battlelog from the shift-tab overlay and then just join a game from that without having to minimize or close the game like an idiot? That might work.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Squishy3 - 08-19-2011

The thing is, PC FPS games, which are kinda known for having an in-game server browser, don't for simply no reason, yet they feel it worth it to give consoles an in-game server browser? EA seriously just makes people not to want to have this game, I think. There's absolutely no reason to try and make BF3 run through a website like a F2P game.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Maxon - 08-19-2011

Sure it doesn't make alot of sense, but it works.  I think this Beta next month is gonna be quite the decider for alot of people.

Only thing I ask from BF3 now, since they are using Punkbuster, is to make sure Punkbuster works properly.  The last two times I've tried to play Bad Company 2, it's eventually kicked me and my friend from the game.  And not after like just joining, no after getting maybe a round in and then kicking me.  Getting annoying, especially since Punkbuster has always had issues, even back to BF2. I would hope after 6 years, they can make sure this shit performs like it should.

I think the main reason why they're going about the web-based launch is probably to make it so there isn't an exe to crack. (I got invited to the alpha, but didn't try it as my computer definitely isn't able to run this game. So I don't know if there's actually an exe or not. And decided to not even redeem my key because as soon as I told my close friends, they all wanted my key. I'm a spiteful motherfucker.) That's the only excuse I can think of to do this sort of thing.

punkbuster has never worked as an anti-cheat technology.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Maxon - 08-19-2011

It works, just not as well as it should.  I actually have no problems with it's anti-cheat stuff, that usually works from the lack of hackers I've seen in BF games (Not perfect mind you), its just a very fickle program that loves to fuck up alot of the time and needs constant updating at times.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Kirby - 08-20-2011

It's hard to make anti-cheats that work when some part of it must be on the end-users PC, where they have access to it.

I mean, I used to h4x in csConfused, on the account I use daily right now, simply because the threat of being caught by VAC (at that time) was negligible and not-scary.

Now like 8 years later, well, it's still just about as easy...actually...

Point in case.

burn in hell

Re: Battlefield 3 - Goffin - 09-24-2011

I bought my copy at gamestop which means I get nothing  ???

Re: Battlefield 3 - Kirby - 09-24-2011

I want to know what takes 20GB, does everything have it's own texture?

Hell, Crysis 2 with the HD and DX11 packs both installed only takes up just over 11GB, and there's no way BC3 will look as sexy as C2.

Re: Battlefield 3 - Maxon - 09-24-2011

Well Crysis doesn't have destruction, separate co-op missions, and nearly as big of multiplayer as BF3 does.  Not saying it adds up to that, but it's probably a good bit once you include stuff like the Back to Karkand pack.
