So you can't blame america for this.  That said, I readily admit that most belgian lambics are superior to anything that dogfish head makes.

There's a local brewery where I live that does a blueberry ale which is pretty damn good. When you get it at a good bar they even put real blueberries in it. Smile

Boo - posting an ad from a shitty beer invalidates any point you are trying to make.  Also try a lambic before commenting: they are delicious.

Double boo. See me after class to study up on your beer multiculturalism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shandy

See also, lime in cervaza, orange in belgian wheat beer (e.g., hoegaarden).

Simply put, if it has ethanol in it, then you are entitled to try to mix it with whatever you can.

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 09-15-2008

One of my favorite beers is a Blue Moon, it goes well with oranges.  Also they do a lot of creative seasonal brews that are surprisingly delicious.  I really want to try their new one that has pumpkin in it.  I know it sounds really strange but if there is anyone I trust to pull off weird stuff in my beer it's Blue Moon, well after Dogfish Head.

I recently just tried Blue Moon's Honey Moon. I really really enjoyed it.

I'm currently enjoying one of these badboys along with some Contra 3;

Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout
Really interesting taste. My first oatmeal stout.
It's Pretty heavy and thick. Sweet oatmealy, caramely, and nutty at first, then finishes with a pretty bitter coffee taste. I have to say, I like it a lot. It's a bit expensive though at 4 dollars a bottle. Well worth it every once in a while.

Re: Beer Thread - Surf314 - 09-15-2008

I've seen this beer!  Also with Contra 3?  Oh how I envy you.

Think so? I'd be pretty embarassed to have talked to someone that would seriously quote a miller lite commercial to prove a point. Tongue

Re: Beer Thread - exanimo - 10-03-2008

I tried some Saranac Pumpkin ale along with a pumpkin cream sauce I made the other night.

The Saranac was alright. I don't think it was anything special, Cinnamony, slightly sweet, light pumpkin flavour.
I also tried Dundee's (Makers of Honey Brown) Oktoberfest, again, it was just alright.

I don't think it was anything special, Cinnamony, slightly sweet, light pumpkin flavour.
while wearing a dress.

if it doesnt taste smokey your doing it wrong.

That's like every review at ratebeer, and if you think a website dedicated to beer only has people in dresses you must have an unhealthy fixation with the idea of men in dresses.

I can't stand it in bottles, but I LOVE IT from the tap.
In fact I had a few just an hour ago.

The guy at the counter said "boy if you like hops lemme tell you, get a fork and a knife for this, you're gonna love it!" About as much as Hoptimus Prime (I haven't had it, but a friend of mine has and says it's about the same).
