I've been tempted to go back to ubuntu since I hear 9.04 does all of that. Plus I freaking love linux' partitioning software. Re: Windows 7 - Spore - 05-01-2009 I'm inclined to believe that only two or three people here have actually read anything about Windows 7. Re: Windows 7 - KarthXLR - 05-02-2009 If they manage to somehow play God and fix EVERYTHING that was wrong with Vista, I might consider upgrading. As with the Beta, the Windows 7 RC Customer Preview Program is a broad public program that offers the RC free to anyone who wants to download it. It will be available at least through June 30, 2009, with no limits on the number of downloads or product keys available. Also, when I select Windows Vista on the boot menu, it still boots windows 7. Re: Windows 7 - sarcasticsteve - 05-05-2009 The official RC is now available for download, and keys/downloads will be available through the end of June and will be good until June 1, 2010! Downloading my copy now, and it's speeding along at roughly 200kb/s. Gonna head to bed and install tomorrow after work, hello 7! Re: Windows 7 - KarthXLR - 05-05-2009 So is RC just another word for beta? If so, I'm interested in trying out and then some. Beta is where they are trying to work out most of the major bugs, a RC stands for Release Candidate. Basically they have worked out all the major kinks and are now focusing on the little hiccups so that when the OS launches, it is as close to perfect as possible. Its a way for MS to test the OS on a large scale of different computer configurations, and put strain on the OS that they couldn't do in their labs. The OS is stable, but not as stable as it will be at launch. Re: Windows 7 - Master Shake - 05-05-2009 Well in the end I reinstalled Vista, so now I'm wondering: how do I partition my one and only internal hard drive? You have to do it at install time.
