Re: The Movie Thread - Dtrain323i - 07-02-2010 (06-27-2010, 12:18 AM)Karth link Wrote: I didn't see those things in the last scene of Toy Story 3. Maybe that's just me. And I know that powerful doesn't always mean depressing. For me, UP had a really sad opening (seriously, if you didn't bawl you're a robot), but what really got me was the scene of him looking at his wife's adventure book (up on the paradise falls). The pure raw emotion of that scene is one that's implanted in my memory, and honestly, I'm probably going to think of that whenever I think of a heartwarming emotional moment. For me, the last scene was a happy one. In the end, they all knew that Andy hadn't forgotten about them and he loved them enough to make sure they were well taken care of. The scene that had me tearing up (YES I FUCKING TEARED UP AT TOY STORY. WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT?) was: ******SPOILER ALERT******** When they're sliding into the incinerator and and they all just hold on to each other, resigning themselves to death. That shit was depressing. Re: The Movie Thread - Tricks - 07-02-2010 Iâve been drafted to go see a movie this weekendâ¦either twilight or Night and Day...... So Iâm seeing Night and Day. Has anybody else seen it yet? Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 07-02-2010 whatever you watch, it can't be as bad as the last airbender (from what I hear anyways) Re: The Movie Thread - Turtle - 07-02-2010 Night and Day shouldn't suck that bad Re: The Movie Thread - Black Aspen - 07-02-2010 (07-02-2010, 02:28 AM)Karth link Wrote: Wow, The Last Airbender was pretty bad. This is not something I wanted to hear..... Night Shyamalan's THE LAST AIRBENDER is a hate crime against film lovers. No one should ever have to endure what I was unexpectedly put through yesterday afternoon watching this murky 3-D shitstorm of a movie that appears to have been shot through unflushed toilet bowl water, which, upon reflection, seems 100 percent appropriate. :'( Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 07-02-2010 (07-02-2010, 02:36 PM)Surf314 link Wrote:It's not abysmal like most of the critics are saying, but it is pretty bad. Re: The Movie Thread - Ianki - 07-02-2010 Re: The Movie Thread - Odin - 07-02-2010 Oh man Slap Shot is such a funny movie. Re: The Movie Thread - Squishy3 - 07-02-2010 See, the problem with The Last Airbender is... M Night Shyamalan. He could've directed it, but should not have written it and produced it. When I saw the creators of the show in the executive producers credits, I'm wondering why they let that man have that much creative control over the movie. Dev Patel and the guy who played Iroh can act. The guy who played Iroh played his role perfectly. Dev Patel can act, but not in the way M. Night Shyamalan wanted him to. They could've just gotten the people who played the characters in the cartoon, and even though they look NOTHING like them, if they hired them to act their characters, they'd have done it 10x better than who Shyamalan got (except Iroh since the person who played him is dead.) Re: The Movie Thread - Hobospartan - 07-03-2010 Watched A Clockwork Orange. I'm good on that for the next few years. Again. Re: The Movie Thread - copulatingduck - 07-03-2010 In Bruges was pretty good Re: The Movie Thread - Squishy3 - 07-03-2010 (07-03-2010, 09:04 AM)Duck link Wrote: In Bruges was pretty goodanywhere is better than being stuck in fuckin bruge also at least the voiceactors for the cartoon show could act the characters, since they did it for 3 seasons. imo it should've been an a-list animated movie, 2hours or maybe 2 and a half hours to sum up each book, they could've recycled some animations and added new animations, and it'd do better in boxoffices and dvd sales than this movie will. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 07-03-2010 Yeah, I'm expecting Airbender to do pretty poorly. Re: The Movie Thread - KarthXLR - 07-03-2010 The Searchers wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Probably need to watch more westerns though Re: The Movie Thread - Black Aspen - 07-04-2010 (07-03-2010, 05:01 PM)Karth link Wrote: The Searchers wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Probably need to watch more westerns though I watched Wyatt Earp a few nights ago. Ugh, skip the 1st hour. Hoakey and stale. The rest is alright though. Dennis Quaid as Doc Halliday is the best aspect of the entire movie. Out of the park. Have Tombstone waiting to be watched too, as I want to see how both handle the same subkect matter. |
