I was joking. You probably need to be in the IRC more to get it.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Surf314 - 01-30-2010

If I buy this from an actual store will I be able to add it to steam?

Just like every other non-Valve game not bought on steam (except for MW2): no

I think he means can he add it as a non-steam game.

you can "add" anything as a "non-steam game" if you want MS Calculator or Paint to have kludgy steam integration. Dunno why anyone would care about that.

More likely, Surf meant "can I add my cd-key, and have near-seamless steam integration, along with the ability to install from steam (and maybe steam-cloud support?)," to which the answer is like versus said: a resounding NO

Finally got Cerberus to work. To make a long story short, EA's customer support sucks.

Maybe you can't do that for ME2, but there are other games where you can do this.  It's always worth trying to register the CD key in Steam to see if it works.  I know I did it with a retail copy of Lost Planet.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - BS1 - 01-30-2010

Finish my first playthough on the difficulty above normal at around 24 hours. Was very fun. I started my second playthrough on Insane. Very fun game.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Spore - 01-30-2010

About 23 hours in and just got my last crew member. I hope to have this run last at least 30 hours. It's going to be Hell at Bioware scrambling to make a worth, open sequel within this console generation's lifetime.

Edit: Oh shit, I'm actually 30 hours in.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Surf314 - 01-31-2010

Bought it retail cuz I had to split it up among 3 rebate cards. And you guys are right, you can't add it via the CD Key. I did some poking around though and supposedly bioware was willing to add the game but they were waiting on valve to make a decision. So it could happen in the future.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - If-I-Die-Its-Lag - 01-31-2010

I stayed up until 3 o'clock.

It was worth it to help Tali.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Eschatos - 01-31-2010

Completed in 34 hours.  Now I just need to go back and redo the final mission so no one dies.

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Versus - 01-31-2010

Spore: this is truly one of the best games I have ever played

Re: Mass Effect 2: Pre-Loading - Surf314 - 01-31-2010

Played 5 min but had to stop because I don't want to have yet another game I'm working on. Need to finish some games first.
