Very nicely actually. It ended up being a beautiful day Sunday. I mostly just helped prepare the chicken then I was put on hotdog detail.

Ike seems to be hitting texas.  I hope there is no one important there.

Also bush will get his butt over there real quick - "My farm, what have you done to it Ike?!?!" (Fires shotgun at hurricane)  "Why won't you die.  I need me some bigger weapons."

My brother tells me they're expecting to Ike to still be category 2 when it brushes Austin.

It seems it really wouldn't have mattered, the lawyers I'm supposed to be seeing evacuated earlier this week.  WTF am I paying these people for.

Beaumont California? I was there last October when the fires were breaking out in northern California. There was a crazy dust storm that made us all evacuate the house we were in. Dust was coming in everywhere air flowed, even through the power outlets.

Google returns overwhelming results for Beaumont pointing to Beaumont Texas.  I did however also live in Bakersfield, CA at one point, which oddly enough isn't that far away from Beaumont, CA.

I've heard that Ike is going to have 15 foot storm surge. They're literally saying you can get out of the coastal areas of Texas, or die.

Re: Hurricane Season 2008 - A. Crow - 09-17-2008

I'm STILL without goddamned power.  It's been over 3 days.  75 fucking hours!  I never waited this long after a hurricane in Texas.

Wow that's a really long time... I hope you're doing alright! Sad

Re: Hurricane Season 2008 - Fail Medic - 09-17-2008

I hope you're in a circuit that just has a break way up stream rather than one closer to you.. how far away are you from neighborhoods that have power, Crow?

Re: Hurricane Season 2008 - A. Crow - 09-17-2008

The university is right across the street.  And they've had at least emergency power the whole time, and are completely back on.  Supposedly 65% of the town was back on Tuesday, I guess they just decided to not return power to the people living on west of the university and south of high street : /
